    Unhappy 3 month old with the common cold

    my son is three months old and he seems to have the cold and since he is so little, the doctors wont give him anything. i have been using the little noses saline drops and the nasal aspirator but its not working. i also bought some baby vicks vapor bath but im scared to use it on him. me and him sleep in the same room so last night i heard him coughing and rattling all night long. this is driving me crazy because i cant make him feel better. please help me

    I'm sorry, I know how awful it is when your little one is sick. Especially when they are that little and there is nothing you can do to help. Unfortunately being only 3 months, there really isn't anything you can do for a cold besides the saline drops and using the nasal aspirator. Do you use a wedge/positioner in his crib? If you don't have one, you could fold some towels and place them under the mattress so he is elevated and can breathe a little more easily.

    Did you take him to be checked out or just talk to the doctor? If he's coughing alot and it sounds deep and like there is a rattling, you may want the doctor to take a listen to make sure his lungs are clear and it really is just a cold. Other than that, hang in there. Colds are tough - worse for the mommy than the baby I think.

    i do have a thin pillow under his mattress and he has had some coughing but he;s been throwing up. i called the doctor and he didnt tell me to come in but i think i will make an appointment anyway

    How's the baby now, hope better.
    If the baby's this small, it's best to consult with doctor.
