    Question Bad Breath in Infants

My 8 1/2 month old daughter all of a sudden has bad breath. It is worse in the morning and after a nap. I looked online and this is somewhat common in infants who mouth breathe at night and those with a cold. She has had a cold recently with a lot of nasal drainage and has been mouth breathing more often. The question that I have is how do I get rid of the bad breath in a 8 1/2 month old??? Any suggestions? Has anyone else experience this in an infant?

Not sure, but you should be getting into the habit of brushing her gums/teeth 1-2 times a day with a fingerbrush or thin washcloth wraped overa finger. This will help your daughter get used to the idea of brushing her teeth as she gets older, and it will help her have a cleaner mouth which may help her bad breath. I imagine that if it is caused by her cold, it will go away on it's own. Call the pediatrician for advice if needed.
