    Question Sunscreen

What are we supposed to do as parents in light of the new sunscreen scandal? Do we put the sunscreen on them and hope the ingrediants don't cause cancer or let or kids burn and pray they don't get skin cancer? My husband just turned 30 and has precancerous areas already!! I don't want that for my babies.

I assume you are referring to the fact that research suggest that vitamin A in sunscreen can pose a cancer risk when the skin is exposed to sunlight.

If that is what you are referring to, then all you have to do is read the ingredients list. Not all manufactures put in vitamin a. Just choose a sunscreen that doesn't have it in the ingredients list. Here is a link to all the various names that vitamin a can go by http://www.rxlist.com/vitamin_a/supplements.htm. As far as I can tell, Coppertone Water Babies Pure and Simple SPF 50 does not have vitamin a. As a bonus, it doesn't have fragrance either.

I found this great website by the Environmental Working Group, I think they are the ones who are informing the public about suncreen and the FDA.
Here is a link to the BEST SUNCREENS as well as a way to search your current sunscreen to see how it rates

This should help you in your quest of finding a safe skin protectant.
