Well, I was feeling so good that my son and I have been catching up on errands... but because he has such a generous nature, he decided to share his cold/sinus/ear infection with me. My ears are ok, but my head wants to explode from sinus stuff. This has gone on for a week. I'm so over being sick. My son is keeig me up all night, I'm awake at 6, and I am completely exhausted beyond belief. I was in really bad shape yesterday, but I had to take my pregnant sister for an emergency ultrasound. She was in the 6th week and we found out she miscarried for the second time. We were so excited to be going through this together, especially since her first miscarriage happened just after I had my son, so I'm a little down right now. I do think she will try again, and hopefully will be blessed, as we all are.
Rosey, you still have an appt tomorrow? Let us know when your U/S is. I'm actually excited about mine. I kind of want a girl this time, but I have a feeling it will be a boy. I'm happy either way, but I would love to give my husband a daddy's girl. How are you feeling?
Navybride, I'm sorry that you had a scare, but I'm so glad things worked out for the best. Alright, so how much pink inventory do you have now? Is your husband buying stuff even when you're not with him yet? That's the best. I swear I was shocked at what mine would come home with.
Alright, I'll have to check back later. My stomach is eating a hole in itself so I'm gonna dig up some veggies.
Awww, Geoh, I'm so sorry you're feeling under the weather again. I had sinus/cold issues about two weeks ago, and I feel like it's just now leaving my system completely. Ick. I can't imagine adding an ear infection to that. I know that supporting your sister through her miscarriage has to be taking an emotional toll on you, also. You have alot on your plate right now. My prayers are with you.
I'm actually doing very well controlling my pink shopping urges. I've picked up some things along the way, but I'm doing pretty well! Husband has not bought anything on his own yet, but everytime I look at baby clothes, he reaches for his wallet, so that I've had to tell him, "It's okay, I'm just looking! We don't have to buy everything..." He talks to her all the time, though, and he swears that she tells him things. "Mia told me she wants pizza for dinner." "Mia told me that she really likes this bedding." According to him, she's awfully chatty! I wonder if he'll regret that chattiness when she actually DOES start to talk ;-)
Hi, i'm due April 27, 2009. I'm 5 weeks now. This will be my second baby, i have a 3 1/2 daughter. We are so happy that we can wait to see the baby and instinct tell me that the baby is a voy! Congratulations to ALL of US!!
Well, between thanksgiving and decorating for Christmas I am completely wiped out. I seem to remember being told I would have energy in the second trimester. Where is it?? I miss my Grinch days where decorating was something I made fun of. Now I have to be festive for my son. Sometimes I even think I enjoy it... until I have to sit down every 15 minutes to catch my breath and drink a glass of water... again. I mean, it really slows an already slow and painful process. I also went shopping on black Friday for the first time ever, and all I could think with the sales going on was how I wish I knew the gender of my baby. I could have decked out the nursery for a great price! I get to find out tomorrow and I'm really excited. It's the first time I've been excited so far. It's hard to be happy when you're so sick. The comforting thing about it was that I assumed my baby was doing well since I felt so bad. OH, and I really think that I can feel my baby moving now. He or she was very active last night, and there was no mistaking it for gas.
Navybride, thanks for your support. It has been hard dealing with the miscariage. It's just so diappointing and sad. Things are going a little better though.
I thought Mia "telling" your husand things was really cute. LOL. They really do get chatty. I swear to you, my son woke up saturday morning, came into my room at 7:15, and did not stop talking for the rest of the day. My husband and I have never been so happy to see bedtime. I'm pretty sure our heads were rattling for the next two hours. We were so talked out we didn't even watch tv that night. :-)
Well, break time is over for me. How is everyone?
Hi ladies, sorry i've been MIA for a few days, one of you must have passed on your sick germs to me via cyber space because I woke up with the worst sore throat/ears/sinus!! LOL Its definitly going around! Compared to what you have been going through, Geoh, I feel like a complete WHIMP! I cant even get myself up to clean let alone decorate!! You must be Superwoman, i dont know how you do it! Im also sorry to hear about your sister, I know what its like and Im very sorry for her loss, your family will be in my prayers.
On a high note, Im so excited you are going for your ultrasound tomorrow!! I hope you get what you want, more importantly I hope Baby is healthy! I cant wait to hear the news, I'll be waiting for your posting!
I have been having the worst luck with my dr appts! Last week they called me to say that there was a problem with the insurance group I signed up for and they wouldnt see me until it was changed, rescheduled for today but traffic was at a stand still and I wasnt going anywhere fast so I called to tell them I was just down the street and will be there in 10 min but they said "sorry we cant see you then"...rescheduled AGAIN for Wed. aaghh! I was so mad because I drive pretty far to get to my Dr, and to just have to turn around and go back home in more traffic had me crazy!! My hubby also took an early day so he could be there! So I still dont know when my BIG u/s will be..im so bummed out!
Navybride, your hubby sounds so sweet! I wish mine would be like that. He was with my dd, but he says its different the second time around. I cant even get him to touch my tummy let alone talk to the baby! He says he will get more "active" with the baby when he could feel the baby moving for himself...whatever that means. I guess time will tell..*sigh*
I hope you all are doing well and hope you all had wonderful thanksgivings!
I will be checking in again soon!
Geoh, I was hoping to see a posting with the "big news"!! I can't wait to hear how your u/s went!
I finally made it to the Dr today and everything was great. While listening for the heart beat the baby kicked so hard the dr couldnt believe it! I had just finished telling her that it seems this baby is unusually strong, just last night my hubby finally talked to the baby and was greeted by the biggest, strongest kick I have EVER felt! It was so amazing/unbelievable! It literally took my breath away and it scared me half to death because it was so unexpected! It felt like s/he was trying to jump right out of my tummy! It was an amazing bonding experience for all of us, but especially for my husband.
And I was finally scheduled for my BIG u/s...this Friday!!! YAY im sooo excited! I cant wait to see if what my hubby and I believe it to be (a boy) will be confirmed, or if my dd will get to say "I told you so" Either way I will be thrilled!
I'll keep you posted! Wish me luck..or better yet an unmodest baby!
Yea, Rosy! At least you don't have long to wait! Can't wait to hear your news!
Geoh, what's your update?? Was your Baby cooperative?? Are you out shopping??
Things have suddenly gotten very busy here with the end of my school semester, and work, and office parties...and all that holiday stuff that sneaks up on you. I do enjoy this time of year, but eesh! Suddenly the days are packed!
Mia's moving all the time. During Thanksgiving, we were watching the parade, and she became extremely active twice. Once, at the beginning when the buffed up, tattooed cast of South Pacific performed, and again at the end with Santa Claus. So we figure maybe she has a thing for sailors with tattoos, and fat older men. Later that night, we were watching The Incredibles with his family, and she kicked me hard enough to give me a jolt! Hubby was able to feel her for the first time that night. That type of strong kick is still rare, but she's definitely getting bigger and moving around in there.
Speaking of bigger...is anybody else suddenly seeing numbers on the scales that they've never seen before? Up until about 10 days ago, I'd only gained 3 pounds. Now I've gained another 6 in the last 10 days! I'm not worried, but it certainly seems like it's happened all of a sudden! Hehehe, if I keep gaining 6 pounds every 10 days, I'll gain another 78 pounds before the end of this pregnancy!
Girl you are not alone with the scale lying to you..lol Yesterday at the dr I couldnt believe what I saw when I stepped on the scale! 15 lbs since my last visit!!! well thats what that evil contraption claims anyway...I refuse to believe such horrible things!! LOL
