    Hi,April baby momma's!!
My name is Celina and im new at this, just found this website yesterday.
I am due April 5th, and I am looking foward to having other moms/ moms-to-be to share with, as I dont have much of a support system besides my fiance.
I have had a somewhat difficult time with this pregnancy so far, I call morning sickness "ALL DAY SICKNESS", but this week I have finally been feeling better.
    Hoping it stays this way!
    How is anyone else feeling?
Any advice on how to use this site?

Hi Celina, im glad you found us. We are all very welcoming here and love to share our all of our pregnancy experiences from the good to the bad (as Im sure you have read). I hope you stick around and join in on our complaining!!

Navybride, six years ago after I graduated high school I moved to Chesapeake to live with my sister who was stationed in Virginia Beach (Oceana). I lived there for 2 years and thats where me and my husband met!! I worked at Greenbrier mall and loved VA, I miss it so much!! After I found out I was expecting my dd, I decided I wanted to move back home to Cali to be closer to my family (my sister was ordered to Japan and I had no family in VA for the last year). Anyway, just thought I would share. Fun to know we once lived so close!

I loved the area. My husband was stationed at Norfolk, but we lived out towards the oceanfront. I did most of my grocery shopping at Oceana's commissary. DC has its perks, but there's something I really enjoyed about that corner of the world. Able to get some of the city life benefits, without the city hassle.

Welcome Celina! Glad you found your way here! I got lucky and missed out on the morning sickness, for the most part. My biggest complaint was the constant exhaustion. For the first 2 months after I got my positive test, I had what we referred to as the "3 o'clock sleepies." I would hit a wall every day around that time, and from there, I dragged myself through the rest of the day until bedtime. I'm sorry you've had a rough time. Glad you're starting to feel better!

    Hi Rosy & Navy Bride,
Where do you live? Is this your first baby? When are your due dates?
For me it will be my fourth. Juliana(10) and Adam(8 on Halloween) live with their dad, my ex-husband. My youngest Salvatore (4) and I live with his dad, my fiance,on Long Island. I have about three weeks to go until the big U/S, and we can't wait to find out which team, pink or blue!
navybride,I have your "3 o'clock sleepies"-(love that term!!) as well. Unfortunately I am still at work until 4:45, so i pretty much sleepwalk thru the last 45 minutes of the workday until I can get home and collapse on the couch.
Has those sleepies subsided any for you? My fiance has learned to do laundry lately and its been a huge help! Any ideas on the "better to use glass than plastic bottles" thing? We always used plastic with my other children, but now my girlfriend was telling me about the chemical in plastic and shes using glass bottles. What do you girls plan on using?
    PS-enjoy your weekend

Bebeblu- I live in So. California and my baby is due to arrive on April 23rd. This will be my 2nd child, I have a 3 1/2 year old daughter named Rhianna.
I am in my 14th week and my sleepies are still going strong as well, and if I dont take the time to rest I get terrible headaches. I, like navybride, also was fortunate enough to skip out on the morning sickness (for the most part). I only had to run for the toilet 2 or 3 times, however for a period of time I would feel sooo nauseous if I let myself get hungry. Im sorry you have been so sick, I hope your bad days are behind you!
As for the bottle thing, I also used plastic bottles with my daughter and will probably use them again but choose BPA free ones. With this chemical scare going on, bpa free bottles are very easy to find so Im not stressing about it.

Geoh- We havent heard from you in a long while, I hope you are doing okay!

    Hello Bebelu,

I live outside of Washington DC. This is our first, and I'm due April 10.

Fortunately, my sleepies subsided a few weeks ago. I work in the evenings (usually about 3-9), so that was rough and I'm glad to have retained my normal energy level again.

As for the bottles...we haven't really made a decision yet. Because this is our first, EVERYTHING seems a little overwhelming, so we're trying to take it a step at a time. Right now, I would say that, like Rosy, we'll probably use plastic, but BPA free ones. Sometimes it's hard to walk that fine line between wrapping Baby in a bubble and being reasonable, isn't it? Or maybe that's just my first-time mom paranoia talking

    Hi ladies,
Well I had my appt today, and I guess it went well overall. I heard the babies heart beat for the first time so that was nice! However I have decided I really dont like my dr!! I met him last month when I was having that crazy numb face thing and gave him the benifit of the doubt when he coudnt give me any answers considering it was my face not my 'nether regend' having the problem. However today I asked him what I thought was a simple question, "Is it ok to take omega-3 fish oil supplements?" He looked at me like he didnt even know that the stuff was!! He said I "stumped him with that one" and then asked ME what the benifit of taking omega-3 was??!! HELLO YOU'RE THE DR., NOT ME!!!! When I was pregnant with my dd, I had these special prenatal vitamins called (duos or duets, or something like that) that had one vitamin pill and one omega-3 pill...I really want those again but he has never even heard of them...go figure! And then the thing that really p'd me off was that he told me to make my ultrasound appt for 4 weeks, but then when I went to make the appt he told the girl at the desk that we will schedule the ultrasound next time (2 more months)...what the hell is that about??!! He got my husband and I all excited only to knock us down!! I cant imagine having this man deliver my baby, if he doesnt know what omega-3 is how am I supposed to expect him to know what a friggin vagina is??!! I wish the P.A. (assistant) could deliver me....I love her! At least she knows what shes talking about!

    Question Names?

Awww, Rosy, I'm sorry you had such a tough experience with your doctor. Will you stick it out, or look for someone else? At least you heard the heartbeat, so no matter what is going on in the outside world, Baby is safe, happy, and healthy with you.

Anybody started talking about names yet? We have the gender ultrasound in two weeks, and want to be able to give Baby a name at that point, if we can. We know what we will call Baby if it's a girl, since there's a tradition in my family about the name of the first-born granddaughter. However, we're really stuck on what to do if it's a boy. Any suggestions from the veterans on here? What process did you go through to find a name? I know that we're not on a two week deadline, but I think that giving Baby a name will also give him/her more of a presence and a personality and we'd like to "test it out" before Baby is born.

How is everyone feeling lately? How about your baby bumps? Mine has really begun to round out, and Im getting really excited! Im very surprised because with my first, I didnt show until about 6 months. Are any of you ladies showing?

Navybride- Even though that particular Dr. sucked, the other Dr.'s in the office are great so Im just going to request to be seen/delivered only by one of the them from now on. I also did my own research and learned all about the omega-3/dha supplements available for pregnant women...I highly recommend you all find one thats right for you, there are so many to choose from and the benifit of taking them during pregnancy are too great to pass on! At my next appointment Im going to ask for a prescription for Duet DHA, I took them with my daughter and even though they are not covered by my insurance the out of pocket cost (about $40) is well worth it to me and my growing baby.
As far as names go, I havent even thought about it seriously. To me, its the hardest part of being pregnant! We didnt have a name for my daughter until a month before she was born, and even then i still wasnt sure if I LOVED her name! My husband and I have such different tastes in names its rediculous! For example, I love the names Noah and Nathan and he likes Dominick and Isreal..boys are so hard to name, but i learned during my last pregnacy is that no matter how long it takes to find that "perfect" name, we will find it eventually! And in the mean time, call the baby whatever name you like that week! I hope you and your husband have an easier time agreeing on a name, it does make it a little more special when Baby has a personal identity.

Good luck Idycanoe on your upcoming ultrasound! I hope all is well with your baby!
