Navybride - what a great ultra sound picture!! Your baby looks like s/he has already found their thumb! Congratulations on a healthy check up!

Im so glad im not alone here with these crazy symptoms! I dont know if I can handle this bloat and gas anymore! It keeps me up all night, its very uncomfortable and I have been trying very hard to deal with it "naturally" as the dr recommends, but Im just gonna have to make a trip to Rite Aid and pick up some Gas-X. As for the acne, I found that Clearasil deep cleaning astringent is working very well for me. However, I do have a new gripe...headaches and dizziness. Does anyone else experience these?? Is it normal?? Im not sure if I should be concerned??

    Talking Dr Apt & Ultrasound

    Hey All!,
I had my first dr apt today. It went good. But I foiund out I am not as far along as I and the place that that did my blood work was wrong about how far along I am.
The dr says by my measurements I am 7 weeks along and due MAY 5!! ( I have a may baby now!!) LOL. It was cool the dr did the ultra sound right in the dr office just had to go into the nest room over which was pretty cool !! HA ha ~ he said everything looks great found heartbeat and it was good and normal , the placenta was normal and in good spot. ONly thing that concerned him was that my yolk sack is 2 to 3 times the size it should be right now, but baby is good and stuff he said though it could be a possibility I could have a miscarraige or just be one of those things that doesn't effect anything( I hope it is the second one) He didn't seem too worried and didn't even have a number of % how likely I could miscarry he said just one of those things he read on before and hardly see, so I am going to try not to worry. I think things are going to be fine just alittle scary..... I go back to see him in 4 weeks and he is setting me up with a dietition ( cause of my gestional diabetes ) to get arefresher course and get a new gluclosae montator cause othe one broke. So I will keep you all posted. Even though I have a May baby now ( But still will deliver in Apri cause of my g/d I will be induced 10 days earlier. hope you all are doing great and take care

    RosyCozy,

At my doctor's appointment, I talked with my doctor about headaches. I'm not having any, but my schedule right now (pregnancy aside) is pretty hectic and will be until December. In the past, I've sometimes had painful migraine headaches brought on by stress, and I wanted to know what was safe if this happens again. She said that it's common for pregnant women to get headaches, even if they've never been prone to headaches before, and that it's perfectly fine to treat them with a Tylenol based product (even extra strength, if needed), just to avoid the aspirin products like Ibuprofen.

She also suggested that headaches may be brought on by dehydration. She reinforced the need to drink approx 2 liters per day.

Hope this helps and good luck!

I found out i was preg a month ago. Being only 17 this is a pretty stressful/scary experience. However, my boyfriend and I are excited about it. I went to one of those confidential clinics where i got an ultrasound and was able to confirm a 'viable' pregnancy. So my mom made me an appointment with a 'real doctor' for this thursday. So yes my parents know. They didn't take it as hard as i thought and my mom is being pretty supportive and my dad not so much but is trying to get me into cyber school. I know most of you are prolly alot older than me and may look at teen pregnancy as a bad thing.. but i'm not ashamed because i know everything happens for a reason and every baby is a miracle. But anyways I am pretty sure I will be due in April like all of you =) I dont know exactly how far i am but ig blood work will tell me. I'll let you know how the appointment goes. Advice and tips are nice =)

Welcome PixieDust. I don't have much advice since this is my first also, but I'm glad you have support since being pregnant is enough of a challenge as it is.!

Good luck on Thursday, I'm sure your doctor will be able to offer you lots of tips and advice. That's what they're there for! Keep us posted and best wishes.

YAY!! Congratulations! I'm sorry I haven't been on in such a long time. I have been completely covered up. Oh, and as for symptoms, I'm sooooo nauseous! I have been throwing up also. I'm so sick my own movements just make it worse. I have barely been able to clean my house, and keeping up with my two year old... OMG! You know, my first pregnancy was hard. I was sick for the first 5.5 months. This one is even harder. It is going almost exactly the same as my first so far, and I have a toddler at the same time. With my first I just came home from work and went to bed. I can't just clock out now. The job doesn't end, so even though I'm a SAHM, it's been a lot harder. Oh, and my face is breaking out like crazy. AH! Almost forgot... I have this extra saliva problem. I swear it's making me sicker. Anyone have any solutions for this?
Navybride and Mrsmarie, Congratulations to you as well. I'm so happy we've all had the chance to see our babies!
Hello to all of our new moms. I'd say more, but I have to run off and hug the toilet. I feel another round coming...

Thank you navybride for that tid bit...good to know its common, my dr. asked if I was having headaches at my appt but because I wasnt experiencing any at the time I didnt persue the topic.

Geoh - im so sorry to hear how much you are suffering! When my cousin was pregnant she was very sick as well, she couldnt keep any food down. Her dr told her to try Sea Bands (those bracelets used for sea sickness) and she said they worked like magic! You might want to give them a try, they may work just as well for you. You can pick them up at any drug store. I have been really lucky so far, I have not thrown up at all yet. I do get nauseous but as soon as I feel it coming on I eat some saltine crackers and it quickly goes away. Also hot mint tea settles my queasies as well as that dreadful saliva mouth!! I hope you feel better soon!! Im also a SAHM and my patience for my poor 3 yr old is so thin, I yell and scream for every little thing and I feel so guilty. My heart broke yesterday when she told me, "stop yelling at me mommy, I dont like that!" I felt like such a bad mother, so today I have been extra careful with my temper, read her extra stories and let her do whatever she wants, even if it means extra mess for me to clean.
Anyway, let me stop. I didnt mean to turn this post into a confessional!! LOL

I also want to say welcome to pixiedust! I admire your courage! Yes you are young, but you are taking responsibility for your actions and that is very admirable. Dont let anyone ever tell you that you are not ready to be mother! God said you are and thats all that matters! You are very fortunate to have a supportive family. Your daddy will come around soon enough, he's just mourning the 'loss' of his own baby girl (you). Just focus on finishing school and staying healthy, everything else will fall into place. Just keep believing in yourself, you will be a great mother!

Hey Everybody. Welcome Pixiedust. I don't think you will find anyone judging you on this thread. Congratulations on your pregnancy, and having the courage to face it head on. I agree with Rosy about your dad. Mom's always take care of the more emotional and nurturing part, and dads always go strait to thinking "ok, how are we going to line up the future to prepare for this kid?" It's really the same thing that my husband did when he found out about our kids too. He was excited about the first, but then became very focused on preparing for a better future. Then I told him about the second, and he got really stressed at first. He has another person to support. After a week or so when he started to calm down he was excited. Men are just providers and have to have the initial freak out, even if they're already a dad.
Rosy, you're so sweet. I tried the hot water and lemon thing. It was good. I actually love mint tea, so since you say that will help, I'm gonna drink up! I am familiar with seabands, so maybe I'll give it a shot. I was also really glad to hear that someone else was snippy with their poor child, too. I have been feeling the exact same guilt. *sigh* Always nice to know you're not alone. Oh, don't stress the confessional. I think a bunch of hormonal pregnant women with a keyboard in hand are bound to do it at some time or another. lol.
I went to the doc yesterday and heard the heartbeat on the doppler. I get to go back in two weeks instead of four since i've been so sick. My doctor says when I can behave and stop throwing up everywhere she'll put me back on the regular 4 week rotation. UGH! At least I get to hear the heartbeat again... just looking for the upside.

Hi ladies. Something strange is happening to me. Yesterday morning I noticed that my cheek was very sensitive, just touching lightly hurt. I didnt think much, but by the end of the day it began to get worse. The pain began to spread along the whole left side of my face, even my top molars and gums began to hurt. Then my skin began to feel numb and I got a really bad headache (only on the left side). I cant find anything on the web that offers any answers. I am worried, this morning it doesn't feel much better. I called the Dr. and he wants to see me later today, I hope he can tell me whats happening! I'll update tonight.
