    Hey Girls,

Wow. I don't have a lot of time, and I don't even know where to start. I can't possibly address everything I want to, but I'm going to try.
Rosey, thank you for being the first person to understand that I'm doing what I need to do. Everyone is telling me to stop working and stop worrying, and it's making me crazy. I mean, am I supposed to sit on my butt and just wait to have a kid? Yea, that's great for my psyche... Oh, and I like the baby's name. I don't know why family feels so entitled to give opinions, especially negative ones, to parents. Don't listen to them. It's not up to you to pick the name that they like and secretly want to call your kid "Hey You." *sigh* I'm so sorry to hear about your husband. My (follow me here) husband's, grandmothers, brother had shingles and didn't treat for a while because he's a stubborn tough guy. It got into the nervous system and he was paralyzed from the middle of his back down. It's been two months and he is just now using a walker to get around. Congrats on the baby shower going well. You are a brave soul to have it at your house. I'm sorry you have to deal with the clean up in addition to everything else you have going on, but you're a champ, and you're gonna make it! Everyone thinks you have plenty of time before the baby comes. Don't you love how calm they are? I hope that you guys get your stuff built soon. Maybe if you tell your husband that you want to help him build it before you are to tired later, he will move a little faster. It worked for me a little bit.
Navybride, i'm glad things are going well for you. I'm glad that you seem to be feeling well. Hang in there, Mia will make her debut soon enough. How did your doc appt go?

As for me... The basement is finally done with the exception of a little touch up paint and hanging one door and one bi-fold door. Everything we need down there to allow us to move forward upstairs is done. I haven't been able to post because I have been down there painting and working my butt off, and working my butt off all over the rest of the house. I have pushed myself past the limit every day. I have been put on bed rest for a day here and there more then once. I haven't had time to do anything except work to get things done. I feel like I haven't even took a breath. I haven't been to bed before midnight in... I don't know how long. Guess what? My c-section is scheduled for next thursday. That's right. Thursday... the 9th. The nursery is painted with the exception of the inside of the closet door (ooops) and the crib needs to be built. Someone is buying the bedding for us which is nice, but it's not here yet. my area rug needs to be centered and I need blinds. Other than that, the nursery is good. Oh, one day I hope to get the 4 tubs of supplies and clothes out of my bedroom. Oh, and I'd like to organize my house a lot faster than I am right now. My sister is calling in maids to deep clean next week, and I'm really excited about that. I just hope i can. I have pushed so hard that I can barely take care of my son. My doctor says that nothing is happening down there, so my soreness and exhaustion is normal. I'm hoping to get everything done this weekend so I can get a few days of rest before surgery. I just feel like I have been running so hard trying to get things done before the baby gets here, that it didn't click that he is this close to being here. Oh yea, his name is Matthew Alexander. Ok. My husband is back up from the office. Gotta go.

    Hey everybody,

I just wanted to check in. I hope everyone is doing well. I go in for my c-section tomorrow morning at 5:30 for 7:30 surgery. I'm hoping maybe I can get some rest in the hospital. It hasn't seemed to work at home so far...

Good luck tomorrow, Geoh! We'll be thinking about you! You've had alot going on these last couple months. Take a few minutes to enjoy Matthew Alexander when he finally makes his appearance.

My official due date is Friday, 4/10. Two weeks ago, when I went in to the doctor's, I was 1cm dilated. Yesterday, I was...1cm dilated. No contractions. No signs of labor. Cervix still pretty high. Seems like Baby Mia is all comfy cozy in there. However, yesterday I was also diagnosed with pregnancy-induced hypertension, which wasn't a shock, since I've been borderline this entire pregnancy. They sent me over to L&D for some monitoring, and everything looked great, as far as the baby goes. I had protein in my urine, though, and my blood pressure when standing was 155/91 (oops!). So yesterday and today I'm on partial bedrest, while taking a 24 hour urine test. I go back in tomorrow for more labs and to determine what the next step is.

Either way, since I'm so close to my due date, the likely result will be the same. Rather than waiting for me to hit 41 or 42 weeks, they're going to induce at 40, if I don't go on my own. The good news is, Baby Mia will be here by the beginning of next week, at the latest. The bad news is, I'm likely facing an induction, which is not something I had prepped myself for. My impression is that they are harder/more painful labors. I guess we'll see what happens.

Geoh, update us when you can! Best wishes!

Geoh, I just stopped in to wish you the greatest luck on Matthews delivery! Im so excited for you and your family! I hope you are getting your much needed rest today before your surgery, you desperatly need it before those lovely sleepness nights arrive!! I hope everything goes perfectly tomorrow! Good luck and God bless! Soon your angel will be here!!

Navybride, im sorry to hear about your blood pressure! I hope Mia stops being so comfy in there and makes her debut asap! I have also heard that induction causes harder labors, but never having been induced myself I can't tell you first hand. Either way, its gonna hurt! But thats why the epidural was invented (if you plan on using it)! Anyway, enjoy your rest now and I'll be praying for your safe, fast and easy delivery!

As for me, my last appt was on Friday. I was told that my cervix is soft and now open to 2 cm. So all week I have just been waiting, everyday I wonder if "today will be the day"! I will be 38 weeks tomorrow and my dd arrived on her first day of the 38th week, so maybe he will too! Wouldn't it be funny if we all deliver on the same day??! Im so ready mentally, I have had enough of being pregnant and just want my baby in my arms now! My dd was born so easily and quickly that I had no choice but to deliver her med free, I hope Jackson decides to arrive with the same speed! Labor hurts and Im not looking forward to a long one!!

I can't believe it...our babies are almost here!!!!!!

Geoh, I hope everything went well with your delivery and that you are enjoying your new little man! I can't wait to hear all about him!

Navybride, how did your appt go? Did your urine test come back okay? I hope your hypertension is resolving naturally. Either way best of luck with your delivery of your precious princess Mia!

    Hello ladies,

Went back to the doctor on Thursday and my blood pressure was lower than it has been in months...I guess that's what staying off your feet will do...and all my labs came back clear. That's the good news. The bad news is, I'm now officially past my due date and no signs of anything happening soon. When I was checked on Tuesday, I was only 1cm dilated, which is where I was two weeks before. Mia is really low, but just doesn't seem to be in a hurry to come out. They sent me home on Thursday to wait her out over the weekend, and I'll go back in Monday for another NST and cervical check. My doctor wants her out by the end of the week. I'd really prefer to do this without induction, but with my dad heading out of the country this coming Thursday (with no means of communication), I may ask for an induction earlier in the week, especially if there's still no change and we're looking at having to induce anyway. I don't know.

Geoh, I hope all went well and you are now spending time loving on your baby boy.

Rosy, Progress is great! Keep us posted!

Well Ladies it seems like such a short time ago we all met up on this thread and shared the wonderful news that we were all expecting new babies. I cant believe the time for this post is actually here! My baby boy, Jackson Kristopher has arrived!! He was born at 7:20 am on Easter morning....my little easter bunny...my little gift from God! He was 8 lbs 5 oz and 19 1/4 inches long. He's beautilful, he looks exactly like my daugher did when she was born! Dimples in both cheeks and his chin!
My delivery was so quick, even faster than I expected, but I was prepared to run for the door at the first contraction. I waited all weekend for him, and by the time Saturday night rolled around I was convinced he would never come! However, Sunday morning at 3:00am I woke up and new the time was coming so packed a lunch for my dd, had some coffee, wathced t.v., and at 5:20 am the first contraction hit me, and boy did it hit hard! The next one hit 2 minutes later, so I ran and woke my hubby, then called my mom to come get my dd. Even though things were hectic, I was calm and made sure nothing was being forgotten. Before I left the house I called labor and delivery and told them I was on my way, that they better call my Dr, because this baby is coming and he's coming fast! The nurse laughed at me and said with attitude, "Honey, we wont call the Dr until WE evaluate you." I told her, "Fine, do what you want, but Im telling YOU that you better be ready to deliver this baby then!"
Sure enough when I got there, they checked me and even to my surprise, I was 9 cm and 90% effaced! The look on the nurses face was unforgettable! I just looked at her and said "I told you! Now I hope you get the Dr. here on time!" Greatfully he ran in about 20 min later, grabbed his gloves, checked me, and said "okay scoot down and start pushing!" I couldn't believe it! I didnt even have the urge to push! But I did anyway and 10 minutes later, exactly 2 hours to the minute from my 1st contraction, out came Jackson! Screaming and hollering, pink and slimmy, but incredibly beautiful!

I can't wait to hear your birth stories, and I have so much more I want to say but theres just no time to say it right now! I hope you ladies are doing well, cuddling your new angels and enjoying this blessing of new life, new beginings, and promising futures!

    Hello ladies,

Looks like my little girl was the last one to hold out! I was due April 10, but she just wasn't interested. The following week, I went in for an NST and fluid check on Monday...nothing. No change, no signs of impending labor. I thought that my water may be "leaking", but when they did a check, it came back negative for amniotic fluid. We scheduled another NST for Thursday, and induction for that Friday, the 17th. Went back home. That Wednesday night, I started having contractions, out of the blue, but nothing serious. They continued throughout the night, and by Thursday morning, were less than 5 minutes apart, but still tolerable. We went to my appointment, where they did another NST, and cervical check. They were about to send me home, but I mentioned that I still felt like I had a slow leak, and they decided to do another litmus test. This time, it tested positive straight away, so they decided to induce me. That was around 11 am. Started pitocin 2 hours later, when I hadn't progressed past 2 cm. In the next 3 hours, I went from 2-4cm....and then stalled out. I held out on the epidural until about 4:30, but at that point, progress was still extremely slow, despite the fact that the contractions were more intense and closer together. There were lots of hours and lots of television, lots of body shakes, and some other unpleasantness until almost 10:45, when I finally reached 10cm. The nurse came in and told me we were going to start pushing, but that new babies sometimes took 2-3 hours of pushing before they were born <groan>. However, Baby Mia had different ideas, and once that phase started, things happened FAST. I pushed for about 45 minutes and she was out, healthy, pink, and wailing at 11:54 pm on April 16. 7lbs, 10ozs, and 21 inches long.

I had quite a bit of tearing, and so I've been a little bit slow bouncing back, but we're doing well. I'm so lucky to have such a sweet little baby. She only cries when she's hungry, breastfeeding has been a breeze, and she only wakes up once between 9:30pm and 6am. It's definitely been an emotional week, but she makes me smile every day.

Rosy, Jackson is absolutely adorable. You have quite a story to tell!

Geoh, hope things went well for you, also. Update us when you can!
