I have a bump! This is my first, so it's not so obvious that everyone is commenting on it, but definitely noticeable to me. I can still hide it in baggy tops, but when I wear something more form-fitting, it's pretty obvious. While I don't consider myself to be particularly heavy, I was never "petite" (I'm from German stock, for heavens sake!), so I was kinda surprised when I started to notice my little bump. I thought it would take longer. In the last couple weeks, especially, I noticed all my weight had kinda shifted to the front. I've only gained 3 lbs, but it all seems to be in this little bump in the front. I agree, Rosy, that it definitely increases the level of excitement. I like showing off my little bump! I can't believe how quickly I'm approaching the halfway point...

Geoh, you've been quiet, how are you feeling? Has your sickness eased at all? Bebeblu, have you had your gender ultrasound yet? I'm going in next Thursday and can't wait! Keeping fingers crossed that this is not a modest baby!
Welcome, ldycanoe! Let us know how the ultrasound goes!

Talking I feel the Baby moving!!

OMG everyone, I feel the baby moving now!! I thought that I had been feeling something for the last few days but wasnt sure if it was just gas bubbles, but last night after dinner, I sat on the couch and felt that little "popcorn pop" that I had been waiting for! I immediatly pressed on my tummy a little and felt them again along with the little flutters. Then I felt a rolling sensation and the little kicks moved down a little so the baby must have done a flip! I can't believe I can finally feel him/her now! This morning, after I ate breakfast, I felt him again! Its like he's thanking me for the food I just fed him! I know this is going to sound crazy, but even though I have seen the baby multiple times on the ultrasounds, heard the heartbeating, and have this round tummy, I dont think it all seemed completely real to me till now!! IM PREGNANT YA'LL!!! lol

    hello all!
I have been so busy with work and ive finally got a few seconds to myself!
Navybride, I go in for my 20 week ultrasound Wednesday next week and I CANT WAIT!! I hope my babys not modest too! I have no feeling on the sex of this baby, but everyone keeps telling me its a girl since I was feeling so crappy for awhile there! which by the way Im finally starting to feel better.
And yes I am showing alot, surprisingly. I am small so any bump shows, and I am starting to get excited too! The baby has been moving around alot these days and thats exciting too!!
Rosy-As far as your doctor, it all depends on how you feel. it can be really frusterating when their not understading tho. Are there any others in practice with him?
Im also stumped on Boy names so Im trying not to think about it until my US next week. Hopefully then I'll know what Im working with. Boys names are tough.
Navybride, good luck with your US next thursday. Maybe by this time next week we'll know what team were rooting for Pink or Blue!!! i will say my prayers for healthy babies of course!
    Enjoy your weekends Ladies!

Oooh, ladies, I'm jealous! I know, from past appointments, that I have a very active baby in there. However, I've not felt him/her move just yet. Everybody tells me "any day now" but I'm not feeling patient

Bebelu, glad you're feeling better. Let use know how your Wednesday appointment goes!

Don't worry navybride, you will feel your baby soon. Remember, we are vets...we've done this before and know exactly what to look for. Chances are you have been feeling your baby too, but its so faint that you dont even realize it. So be patient, my best friend is pregnant with her first and didnt feel her baby moving until about 23 weeks.
Im sure you have read all about what it feels like but its all about timing and concentration. This is what I do..after I eat (especially after just being really hungry) I lay back on the couch and focus all my attention to my lower belly. I close my eyes and breathe very slowly and quietly, and just wait. When I feel my baby, I usually feel very light "popcorn pops" off to my sides but every once in a while I will feel a "wavy flutter" way down low by my pelvic floor. Sometimes I wait and dont feel anything, so dont be discouraged!
And speaking of jealousy, Im the one who's jealous here! All you ladies are going for your BIG gender appointments this week, and I havent even been scheduled for mine yet!! I am so excited for all of you, and hope your babies are not shy and proudly show off their "goods"! I cant wait to hear back from you all! Good luck, I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for all of you!

Thanks, Rosy. That's pretty much what my husband said, too, when he had to listen to my venting the other night. I know this is one of those things where I'm just going to have to wait and be patient. Not something I'm so good at, but I'm working on it

Bebeblu, today was the gender ultrasound, right??? How did it go? Was Baby cooperative? Are you out shopping for pink (or blue) as we speak? I'll check back tonight, hoping to hear some good news!

    Default It's A....

I went for my 19 week ultrasound, and the tech was able to tell us, with "99.9% certainty" that it's a GIRL! I'm a little shocked, since for some reason, I had it in my head that this little one was going to be a boy, but I'm SOOO thrilled!! My husband, too, was beaming. I'm pretty sure Baby already has him wrapped around her itty bitty finger. I'll also get a "bonus" ultrasound sometime in the next two months because she was feeling rather sleepy this morning and wouldn't straighten out so that they could accurately check the spine. Everything else (heart, brain, kidneys) all looked perfect. HB was about 155.

Since the first granddaughter in my family inherits a name through tradition, she will be Maria Theresa (or Therese, not sure yet), but we'll be calling her Mia.

I have alot of pictures (the tech printed out like 6 today), so I'll put one up as soon as I get them scanned into my computer.

    Yippee!!

I'm just in total awe of how these little beans actually grow into tiny people. The 10 week sonogram showed something that looked like a peanut (although, an ADORABLE peanut, of course ) with buds for arms and legs. 9 weeks later that peanut has distinctive features on her face and is big enough that she no longer fits entirely on the screen.

And Rosy, we ARE celebrating tonight by going shopping after hubby gets off work. This is the first grandbaby on either side and will be spoiled rotten, so we're lucky that we won't have to buy alot right off the bat, since our families are so willing to chip in. However, I want to be able to purchase something pink, now that I know I can, and I want her to have something her daddy picked out just for her, too.

I'm being good and not hijacking the credit card yet, but I warned my husband to get his plastic ready, cuz I'm ready to shop now He's such a good sport.

This weekend friends of ours are coming over with their 2 month old baby girl, Baby Mia's future playdate. So not only will we "introduce" the two, but I'll get to "practice" with their cutie.

I attached the most recent u/s pic, and also my definite bump. Sometimes I feel "cute and pregnant" and other days, I just feel "fat".

    Have a good weekend, ladies!

    Hey Ladies,

I only have a second, but I just wanted to check in. I read up on everybody so I'm up to date now. I'm so excited for all of you. Thank goodness most of my sickness is gone, so I have been out running errands and catching up on house work since I can move around now. Unfortunately, that has kept me away from my computer.
It sounds like all of you are doing well, and I'm so happy for everyone. My big u/s appt is on Dec. 2nd, but I will be back before then. I just wanted to let everyone know I'm still around and I will be back to talk later.
