Wow this is GREAT! I’ve actually just started, it all started as a hobby to help me out a bit with an anxiety issue I’ve been having. I started designing and creating my own pacifier holders. I started by making them for my baby girl Abby but then my friends started to purchase them to help me out financially then their friends started to purchase and now its to a point that I have special orders lol. I love it because it is something I like to do.

It was exciting to see this thread posted about having your own business when you're a stay-at-home-mom. It has been such a pleasure and joy to share what I love the most with what I love the most--kids! What do I love so much? Parrots! Anything and everything about them fascinates me. Most importantly, though, is how they learn and how much it is like our own little guys. They love to play in front of the kids and do things like talk, play baskbetball, fly. They can perform simple tasks like object recognition. The whole time, we are asking the bird to do the behavior so the kids learn about how we ask. The biggest joy is seeing the smiles on the kids' faces and the subsequent thank-you drawings. I also have my son tag along and they love it when he holds a bird, play basketball with them and everything. What a great opportunity to show him all of the different types of people there are in our community and how to play well with others and share his own love for the birds!

There's nothing I love more in the world than my children but I am also a HUGE animal lover! I wanted to do something from home so I can still be with my children so I got the idea one day to start a pet treat bakery. I LOVE to bake and I know tons of people who don't have children but have dogs instead and spoil them so this was a pretty great idea for me. My daughter, Emily:5, helps me as much as she can with it as well! It's called ChubbyPuppy Bakery.
