Question 30 Weeks! Head is down - QUESTION!!

I had a check up this week and told the midwife I was having a few contractions and some lower back pain. She decided to do an exam and discovered that the babies head is down. I am not dialated (sp?) but babies head is right there. She said that the baby probably would not turn anymore. She did not put me on any restrictions.

My question is - does this mean that the baby has dropped? I am not exactly sure about the terminology and someone asked me that and I wondering.

    Thanks for your help.

Well, the baby has dropped, but that is not what this means.
What is means is that the baby is in the position for delivery. It doesnt mean that it will happen today, or tomorrrow, it just means he/she is getting ready.

All you need now is to dialate, and youll have a baby!!!

    Congrats

My little guy was head down at a 33 week ultrasound but not engaged in the pelvis. He turned and was head up at my 34 week appointment. Until they are really engaged in your pelvis, there is always a chance he could turn.
