    Smile Feeling movement yet?

Hey ladies! I am 19 weeks and 4 days today and I have been feeling all kinds of wierd movements the last couple of weeks. This is my first baby. First it felt like someone was tickling me from inside my tummy. So much so that I would start giggling. Then I felt a tingly feeling in my belly and then little bumps. Almost like gas, but not...(I dont know how to explain it better). Last week I started to feel actual kicks and real movement. I was lying down with my hand on my tummy and felt a nice strong poke from inside my tummy. It was the coolest thing ever. My husband also felt a few kicks too and when we went to the doctor for my monthly checkup she said she saw and felt kicks back at her when she was poking around. It hasnt been steady enough movement to track yet as I dont think the baby is strong enough to be felt constantly, but it really is amazing to feel. (Although, I'm sure when I'm about 35 weeks and the baby's foot is in my rib cage I'll be a little less thrilled but I enjoy it now.) How is everyone else doing? Have you felt movement or experienced anything else cool if this is your first time? For those experienced mommies, any tips for new moms on what to expect in the next couple weeks?

One more question- How does everyone feel about 3D/4D ultrasounds? Are you planning on getting one done?

Although this is my second child it feels like my first since it has been about 12 years since the last one! It is a very different feeling when she kicks or moves.. so awesome, for now at least... i'm 19 & 1/2 weeks too and have been trying to "recognize" my baby's movements for a couple of weeks now. Sometimes i think it's my digestive system or tiny muscle spasms.... or just all in my head.... but last night while lying in bed watching TV, I definitely felt baby's "blips" as I like to call them. they felt intentional rather than spontaneous, like baby was adjusting to a more comfortable position... i was smilin' from ear to ear! Husband was sleeping and when i mentioned it to him, he said, "oh really?... thats nice.............zzzzz".
Can't wait for the anatomy ultrasound!!!

That's so exciting Carynsita! I know exactly what you mean by intentional rather than spontaneous. That's what I felt just what was like little gas bubbles or something but not random. During the ultrasound he was kicking away like crazy because she was pushing on my tummy for about 10-15 minutes so he was probably over it, but anyways, I noticed I couldn't feel much of his kicks so its really just random depending on where he is and how strong his kick is. At this point he's only about 10oz, so its not going to be as obvious just yet. I was still super exciting and smiling like silly when I first felt it though. Good luck at your ultrasound!

My insurance pretty much will not pay for any ultrasounds. I only got the one because I was measuring a little big for 18 and a half weeks. So unless something is wrong my doctor said I will not get anymore for this pregnancy. We are going to do the 3D because our entire family is in Minnesota and we are in Oklahoma (my husband is active duty and I just separated from the Air Force) so I wanted to do something to help them be a little more involved with the pregnancy. Hopefully we can get some good pictures of the baby and see what our little man looks like. We are doing the 3D at around 29 weeks.

I am 19 weeks and 6 days today with my first baby. I am actually going in for my ultrasound today and I hope to get to hear what the sex of the baby is, so I can stop saying "it" or "the baby". I have been feeling flutter now for about 2 weeks, it is amazing! Sometimes it wakes me up in the middle of the night, but I can't actually feel kicks yet, just little fluttering motions. How exciting!!

I agree with the excitement about getting to call your baby a boy or girl. I thought it was a girl...I was almost sure of it! Then I found out it was a little boy and I'm so excited to meet my little man! The ultrasound was by far one of the coolest things I've ever seen. Just seeing how much he was moving and doing that I couldnt even feel. It takes away some of the anxiety of not being able to feel everything and wondering everything is okay. Now I know he's just hanging out in there discovering things and growing. I can feel movements and tickly flutters. I get pretty for sure kicks here and there, but mostly it just feels like gas, but slightly different (if that makes sense). I love every little movement that I get to feel though. Good luck with your ultrasound. I hope everything looks great and you are able to find out the sex!

    Smile It's a boy!

Our ultrasound went great and we found out we are having a baby boy! I couldnt be more excited. I was just glad that he was healthy and things are progressing nicely...
I am finally feeling ACTUAL kicks. They are still inconsistent, but I love when I feel them...my husband had his hand on my tummy as we were falling asleep last night and he felt his first kick too. It creeps him out a little bit, but he was glad he felt it.
