Is there any young moms here that are between 20 and 22? And you stay at home what do you guys do to keep busy?

Yes I am 20 and I stay at home with my 14 month old son, Brayden, sometimes I get so lonely and bored I think I'll go crazy but lately since my son is running around and playing I'll take him outside and play. I also found some hobbies like photography, which I love, and baking, that helps me on boring days lol.

And the whole cooking and baking I do whatever I can cuz I have this lil problem called ( BURNING things)!!!! LOL!!! Other whys I do that all the time!

I feel that young moms should be respected and not seen as scroungers as they still bring a life into the world and that they are just as good as older moms , do you feel that they deserve more respect than they do now or less ???

I'm 25, have more than 1 and you'll get busy quick on a more serious note; to help keep myself busy when my first was a baby, I scrapbooked. It gives you a good excuse to take all those fun pictures and a way to show them off. For my first 2 I took a picture a day for the whole first year and am in the process of doing the same for my 3rd.

I also did a lot of sewing, made a quilt for her, Halloween costume, pajamas, anything I could think of.

Exercising is also a great thing to do during that time. If you have a hard time motivating yourself to exercise (it took me getting to my 3rd to motivate myself) get a wii and play the wii fit plus, sports center or another exercise game because they are fun and you don't really think about the fact you are.

If you are a religious person this is a good time to study the scriptures too! Or if you are a more intellectual type take an online class at the local college and learn (there are even classes you can take "independently" which means there isn't a time frame to finish in)!

I like the idea of scrapbooking. I've been taking so many pictures of my son. where is the best place to get supplies and everything for cheap prices. I also thought about starting to write again. Zach_Jenn after reading your post I have a few ideas on things I can do.

And I'm waiting for my days to be filled with countless things to do with my son. Everyone keeps telling me to enjoy him when he's this small, but I am a very athletic person, so I'm dying to chase after him.

I tend to find my cheapest scrapbooking supplies at JoAnn Fabric and Craft Store, Walmart, or Sam's Club. JoAnn's is my favorite though. All you do is sign-up to be on their emailing list and they will notify you about sales and/or you get a coupon each month that you can use on regularly priced items (usually 40-50%). just go to joann.com, they also have the best selection.

I like Sam's for sheet protectors because when they have them you can buy them in large quantitiy for cheap. I only buy paper from Walmart when it is clearanced price and I buy sheet protectors there when I need more and Sam's doesn't have them.

Seagull Book is a great place to get 12x12 binders, the binders work MUCH better than the little screw in place expandable books (which tend to rip if overused). They don't have them all the time, but when they bring them in they are less than $5.

These days when they are little do fly by so quickly! My oldest is already 3 1/2 and a HUGE HANDFULL! But it is also a lot of fun to watch them learn and grow, my advice would be to try to love every stage. Even the terrible two fit throwing stage is something you can look back and laugh at.

    Default keeping busy

wow, some of these moms are saying they arent busy during the day and i am surprised. i would think being a young mom means running around getting everything done. that's how it is for me. I am 19 and my daughter, Caroline is 10 months. I feel like I never get a chance to just sit with her father and talk or read a book or call my sister. I am so busy working and going to school and taking care of my daughter. I love Caroline ...she makes up for any hurt i've ever had. but sometimes im jealous of my high school friends who are in college.
