Does loving you new mom body include loving those pesky (and painful!) varicose veins that popped up during pregnancy and are still sticking around? No way, nor should it have to. Have any of you experienced varicose veins during pregnancy? If so, who did you go see and what were they able to do for you? Any short term or long term resolution?
me me me! i have these varicose veins during and after pregnancy and they look so bad!!!! im so insecure when wearing shorts because i keep hiding those varicose veins when someone gets near me or when someone is sitting and im standing near them. i hate hate it! i'm contemplating on having sclerotherapy you can ask about this with your derma. it's a treatment, the doctor will inject something on to the veins and this will supposedly "tame" the veins.there will be bruising and will take weeks to heal. accdg to the doctor, it is not a permanent treatment. after 6months or so those "pesky" veins will come back gradually. but for me that's pretty ok. also , i started using compression stockings which is really tight that will prevent veins from bulging, you can wear it over jeans especially when you are going to do long standing or sitting. hope this helps!
I've heard about the sclerotherapy injections, and for varicose veins some vein specialists also offer "endovenous laser ablation". Done properly, the varicose veins won't come back after this, so you may want to ask around to see if someone in your area offers this. It's a quick outpatient procedure that treats the source of your varicose veins, so treated veins won't come back. Who wants to have injections that many times! Then again, this is the price we pay for wanting to look good! Compression hose can provide good relief, so I'm glad you were offered this. But if the injections aren't helping, I would look into endovenous laser ablation, too! Just a thought!
