    Default Checking in

Just wanted to see how all you May ladies are doing. It's been so quiet on the forum lately. I know we're all getting ready for our little ones to arrive, very soon.

Dustin's doing great and so am I. My husband and I are slowly getting everything moved from the garage to the apartment since I just moved. I met my new OB last week and we took our childbirth class Saturday and the breastfeeding one tonight. We're getting close, 5 weeks for us...

    Cool

    Cass,
I am glad you are with your husband again, and just in time too.

For me it seems waiting is now the hardest part.
The room is set up, Samuel's clothes and bedding are all washed, and last of the baby registry is being filled and shipped. I have cleaned the house half a dozen times and I am more anxious and nervous about waiting another 3-4 weeks as oppossed to the birth itself.

I did find out that both my mother and sister are planning to fly out after the birth. It will be good to see them both again. 1 yr for my mom, and 2 yrs for my sister [minus the video calling via webcam]
My husband is getting excited too I can tell. He is kissing the belly more and cradleling it in his hands when he hugs me. I took him to the Babies R US store last weekend to look around and he would come around the corner with little onesies with this big grin on his face, " Robots, this one has robots on it"

I am including a pic of the finished baby's room, I am sharing this with as many people as possible because I am so proud of how it turned out. The walls are still bare but I don't think it will matter in the grand scheme of things.

It's called matress wrapping, my girlfriend introduced me to it when her son would not sleep in any position but his stomach. He has been sleeping on it for 7 mo. now and I have one on my own crib matress. Hope this helps!

Jena - The room is so adorable. You did a great job! I know you've probley heard this but try to relax some. Have you started Samuel's scrapbook? Maybe that will give you something to do to keep you busy for the next few weeks. Good luck!

My husband's doing the same sort of thing as your husband. I thought he was just excited since we're finally here and he's seeing everything continuously but I guess it's just a Daddy thing.

I am 37 weeks and 2 days (had to throw that in!) Doc said today that I am 50% effaced but not dilated yet. So anytime now up to a few more weeks. I agree the waiting is the worse. I started maternity leave a week ago and have kept myself so busy that I've had no time to relax, it's starting to catch up to me. I hope to get a few more things done and get lots of relaxing in before she arrives!

Although I guess I've been nesting I have not had that spike in energy that they say comes before birth. Maybe just cause I've been too busy!

Hey, ladies, I'm just dropping in to let you know that both Jboz and I have had our babies. I guess I was the first May mom. If only I had been able to hold on until May! My Anna and Joseph were born last Thursday and are still in the NICU. They're doing well but it's hard. And Jboz's Charlie was born yesterday and apparently has red hair. I'm sure she'll be back soon to tell us about the birth, as will I. I hope you're all doing OK and enjoying the precious last weeks of pregnancy.

    That is so wonderful.
I had my 36 week checkup yesterday and as it turns out I am actually 37 weeks ( well 19 days; until due date). So anytime now.

    A funny story:
I was on the phone with my sister in Guam when two packages arrived at my home. I was so excited wondering what was purchased off the registry now, and so heavy too. When I opened the packages I squealed with delight and laughed for about 2 minutes. It was diapers and wipes. Nick's grandmother bought us a 'CASE' of Diapers and wipes each. My sister and my husband both laughed so hard at my enthusiasm. I was so excited because that was the last thing on my mind before the baby came. Now, I will be laid up, feet elavated, crotcheting his baby blanket until he arrives.

Congratulations for all those may moms that recieved their bundles early. While some of us are still waiting for ours, it won't be long now ladies.

Does anyone else find it strange that the first 8 months flew by and the final days seem to be dragging on at a snail's pace?

Well, I had an appointment today. Dr said anyday now, I'm dialated 1.5. Unfortunately Dustin's transverse/breach. We have a week to hope that he turns before my Dr schedules me for a C-section. Not happy about that. So it looks like Dustin may be coming earlier then we expected.

Nauseus (sp?), sleepless, not sure why.
Woke up at 12:13am thought I would see if there was anything new with you guys.
I keep wanting to go to the hospital to see if these are real or fake labor pains but I have to keep reminding myself, "When there real I'll know."
Nervous, excited, and I completely know why.
