Beloved pediatrician Dr. William Sears is taking your questions! Post questions here for the man who coined the terms “attachment parenting” and “babywearing,” and we might feature your question — and Dr. Sears’ answer to it – in an upcoming issue of Babytalk magazine.

I think my 13 month old might be thirsty some of the times he wakes at night. Is it safe to leave a sippy cup of water in his crib?

My 13 month old still wakes 2 times at night, at the exact hour every time (11pm and 3am). He needs us to go into his room to sooth him and lay him back down. How can I teach him to self sooth so he doesn't need us every time he wakes?

Should I wash the suncreen from our morning outting off my child when we get back inside, or is it okay to stay on until his evening bath?

My pediatrician always told me that I shouldn't use baby powder on my baby when changing her, however she seems to get a diaper rash pretty often. I use diaper rash cream which seems to take care of it, but is it normal for this to happen so often? Should I be doing something different?

I took my 3 month old to the doctor 3 weeks ago, and the doctor he saw said he thinks that he has Pyloric Stanosis. Everything I am reading says that they do all kinds of tests (ultra sound, xray) to truly diagnose this disorder, but this doctor didn't do any of that. He did a normal physical exam and thats about it. I also read that the child will need to have surgery to fix the problem, but the doctor my son saw said that we should just watch to make sure he is gaining weight, and he will probable outgrow it. I am very confused and don't want to cause more harm to my son by not doing anything. What are your thoughts?
