When did baby sleep through the night?

My baby started sleeping through the night at around 4 months old. My secret? Putting a tablespoon of rice cereal in his nighttime bottle. It worked like a charm! If I ever have another baby, I'd do it even earlier!

we are so blessed! our first daughter, now 23 months, began sleeping all night (8 hours) at 2 weeks old and our second daughter, now 16 weeks, was sleeping all night (9 hours) at 7 weeks old. Both babies 100% breastfed.

My first son started sleeping through the night at about 5 months old. We let him cry for about 5 minutes before checking on him for about 4 nights until he learned to sooth himself. My second son started sleeping through the night (entirely) at 1 month with no prompting from us. We were lucky - he slept 4-5 hours are a stretch even in the hospital.

We were so incredibly lucky. Our son started sleeping at least 8 hours at 9 weeks. He has been an amazing sleeper ever since. I think it might be genetic--my husband and I both love to sleep

I was really lucky also. My daughter first slept through the night when she was just a month old. I remember waking up at like 5am and flying out of bed cause I thought something was wrong! She was just sleeping so sound. She has continued to sleep through the night ever since.

My son was up every three hours until around 8 months, when we decided to do some sleep training. That was the hardest thing I've had to do so far. It took about 4 nights, then he was sleeping through the night until 5:00am or so. Has never slept in for me, though. Since moving him into a bed he now sleeps until between 6:00 and 7:00 am. After 8 months of no sleep, I'll take what I can get!

My son suffered from colic and it seemed to take an eternity of nights, walking the hallway from 11:00 PM til 3:00 AM, before he would sleep. More experienced Moms told me not to worry he would simply grow out of it and sure enough on Christmas eve, exactly 3 months after his birth, he slept through the night! It was the best Christmas present ever!


My daughter was so congested as an infant, we had her sleep in her infant car seat to help her breath at night. She became so accustomed to it that we had a hard time taking putting her to bed without it but it was a wonderful aid when she was sick.

I was incredibly lucky with my daughter. She started sleeping from 8pm to 8am at 2 weeks. Unfortunately, all my luck was used up with her. My son is 21 months and is still up at least once, usually twice. I'm SO tired!

My daughter is 11 months old and she still doesn't consistently sleep through the night! Her personality is outgoing and full of life and she continues those traits right into her nighttime routine! But despite the inconsistent sleep, I still look forward to seeing her every morning because that little smile makes all the sleep deprived feelings go away =)! Oh the joys of mommyhood!
