You're right, gals, I need to be brave and firm with him. It's just hard to face up to somebody with absolute power over your career and your whole life, and I'm a coward. I'm thinking of writing to him: You choose. Either I tell you now that I am not doing this and you plan accordingly and change the program (not a big deal), or I tell you the day of the conference that I haven't finished and/or can't get my whale of a body to the conference location and you deal with it then...
He's one of those people who totally doesn't understand pregnancy and doesn't care about much other than keeping his own sinecure anyway.
I'm going into the city this afternoon to work at the library on this, so at least I can say I tried.

Hey OM well gueeeeessssssssss what... April the 27th at 7am I will be on the operation table.. (sounds scary worded like that) Let me try again April the 27th my little bundle of joy will be here.. YAY I am excited and scared of course.
I live one hour from the hospital and I have to be there 2 hours before.. so were talking leaving my house at 4am! Yikes.. Im not that worried for my sake since I dont sleep anyways but my little boy.. bless him having to be up that early. It will all work out! Yikes!
Oh we had an ultrasound too. He weighs 3.5 lbs He wouldnt look at the camara so we couldnt see his face good (they do 4d) but what we did see is him holding his big toe and had his head rested on his arm. It is a super cute picture!

I can't believe it, Charlie will be snuggling in your arms in no time at all. You really have to set up your private message options so I can get your address and send you a little something for him (since I couldn't make it to your shower ). I'm really excited for you. Our babies will be around a week or 10 days apart if all goes as planned. My doctor just said "around May 5 or so" and I'm hoping he'll give me something more concrete, or explain how he'll decide when it's time to induce, when I see him on Friday.

I'll be at 30 weeks on Friday! I know it's just numbers and the babies are not ready yet but my sister was totally dilated at 28 weeks and the hospital kept saying they needed to get her to 30 if possible because it was an important cut-off date for preemies, so all along I've had it marked on my calendar as a big day. (She ended up making it to 36, btw, and I hope to also.)

I haven't confronted my advisor yet. I've been trying to work on the paper but I can tell I won't make it in time. So I've written drafts of an email to him, talked to friends and my mom for advice, planned to call him... I'm just paralyzed.

Yea I was thinking it would be cool to be able to send each other stuff in the mail like pictures and such. It would be neat to keep in touch and be pin-pals. haha I didn't know if you thought that was cheesy or not haha

Yes we dont have long at all! Exactly 7 weeks for me!
So if you had yours at 36 weeks we would only have them a week apart (like you said)

My little boy is getting so excited. He has been call the baby "baby" and as of 2 days ago he is finally calling him Charlie

Oh my goodness, my parents just called to tell me that my eldest sister is 5 months pregnant. They kept it a secret until now--years of TTC & losses. I am so happy for them. A little girl for July!
Zero to six grandkids in 13 months for my folks, 2 sets of b/g twins and two singleton girls. My head is spinning. I better start sewing baby quilts faster.
