    Anyone experience this while breast feeding?'

    Unfortunately, yes. Breastmilk is mostly water, so breastfeeding can take a lot of your hydration. Make sure to drink a LOT of fluid to keep hydrated and take some extra fiber to help things along.

    It really helps me when I eat lots of fresh fruit (clementines, oranges, apples, grapes- what I call 'easy fruit'), at least one bowl of oatmeal and one cup of coffee per day. Here is a cookbook that talks a lot about nutrition and breastfeeding that has lots of great ideas for nutritious/healthy foods while pregnant and breastfeeding. It is a vegetarian cookbook (which I am not a vegetarian), but I have found it helpful

    High fiber foods would be the best route. If still not working call your OB, he may be able to tell you a type of stool softener that may help and safe while nursing.
