Which swaddling blanket have you had the most success with? My SIL swears by the Swaddle Me, but I think there is too much velcro and find that my DS can still break out of it (and wake up screaming). Any recommendations?
I bought two Miracle blankets.....expesive, but worth every penny. Especially if you have an active and strong baby..like mine. We could not get him to sleep his 1st month. First time I tried the blanket he went right to sleep. He is now 14 weeks and is starting to outgrow it. Problem is...I don't know if he knows how to sleep unswaddled. My suggestion is to let them get out of the swaddle so that they get used to sleeping unswaddled. I know I am going to have a fight on my hands soon!
Can't you just use a regular blanket? The others are so complicated! The blakets from the hospital are the best!!
I like using plain old baby blankets, especially those that are sort of a cotton mix with a little stretch to them. That way you can swaddle fairly tightly but the blanket will still have a little give to it so you won't worry that your baby can't breathe or is too stiffly bound. One of my twins really liked to be swaddled very tightly and this always worked for him.
Yes that would be best, since I too am in a situation now with my 14 week old ...she cannot sleep unswaddled but is almost too strong to keep swaddling much longer...
Ive had the post success (early on Week 1-10) with the Swaddle me or the Halo blanket (the one with the wrap to hold the arms) now that hes 12 weeks I've used the Swaddle Designs 123 blanket. Check Ebay. There a large receiving blanket and work well. I loosly do it now to get him used to not swaddling eventually. I really liked the swaddle me b/c in the middle of the night I didn't have to unwrap him totally just the bottom and change his diaper.
I think if you start loosly swaddling, then keeping one arm out, then two then youll be set with an unswaddled baby soon. I'm no pro at this I'm still swaddling my boy but I thought I'd work on unswaddling a little at a time now & hopefully by 4 months he won't need swaddling? That's just what I think I'm not sure how it will actually go.
I keep one arm up (not out) now and tightly swaddle the one arm and loosely the second one by his face and he does break out of it but it's usually his time to wake up anyways.
I have never had any luck with any of the swaddling blankets on the market. i always just used regular blankets, especially the fleece ones, like the cotton blend ones they have a stretch to them and I know in the winter he is warm enough.
The miracle blanket is the best & all you'll need. I had the Kiddopatumus but 1) the velcro would snag the other items in the wash and 2) the sound of velcro would startle my DD awake. The "miracle" is easy to use and I like that i can wrap her as loose or as tight as I need... my DD likes to be snuggled up tight. Good look - I firmly believe in swaddling - my DD has slept thru the night 8 pm-5 am since 8 weeks!
Do you know what swaddling works best for? Colic and at one point of another most mothers and most infants experience colic. It is most difficult to deal with a screaming child day in and day out and it makes it worse if thier tummies do not feel well. I have a young child myself and we went through three months of colic, I would have given anything for my little guy to have some comfort. Because I had to deal with Colic in my own way, I do not want any other children to feel the discomfort my child felt. So if you have a colicy baby or feel that you are on the way to colic, check out this webpage:

i wanted to ask if you guys have those baby bean bags from Chibebe? Im thinking of buying one because my 2 month old daughter has trouble with gurd. Do they really work?
