Hi ladies!! I hope everyone is feeling great. We should all be showing bumps and getting our energy back. I sure hope so at least. I have been bad and eating alot of sweets and just anything. So my weight is creeping up, which is just scaring me to death. Mostly b/c with my first one I gained 80 lbs. Yikes! So I sure hope that I can control this constant hunger more this go around. So 2 things, my soon to be 7yrs old has shown some things ever since seeing the baby and finding out the sex, she has taken out her old baby blanket and sleeps with it, and when we asked if she would share with the baby, she said NO, she will have her own. Also she is starting to talk like a baby again, which bothers me. Anyone else experiencing this or know of someone and how they handled it?? I am trying to include her in everything from picking clothes to making her feel like the important big sister she will be...so I hope it turns around when the baby finally gets here. #2 I know all pregnancies are different, but I know 2 women who are expecting same time as I am, like most of you. But there "bumps" are much bigger then mine. and harder...why is that??! I know some women carry different, but is it that different?! I have a baby bump, but if I wear regular clothes I don't look pregnant at all, just like I have gained weight. am I obessing too much? With my first it was an instant belly popped out. ha!
I will go home and post my bump tonight so you all can see...keep in mind I am 21wks.

    Have a wonderful day ladies!!

Nuvia, I can't really help with your first question regarding your 7 year old, since my daughter is only 19 months, but it may be just trying to make sure that she'll still be your "baby" even when the new baby comes? Just a thought. With regards to your baby bump, as long as you are measuring correctly at the OB's, don't worry about it! I know several women who are just as far along as me and are WAY bigger than me! My husband told me the other day that I'm still at the stage where you're not sure if I'm pregnant or just getting really thick around the middle (nice, I know). With our first, I barely showed until past 7 months! I was miserable because I just looked "plump" and kept hearing that I was way too small to be so far along, but I popped around 8 months and had a healthy 7 lb. 14 oz. daughter. I know it's hard not to compare yourself to others who are due around the same time as you, but really, it's all in the way you carry (can be different with each child) and the way the baby is positioned in there. I actually know someone pregnant with her 4th and is 22 weeks along and you can not tell AT ALL that she's pregnant. She's barely got a bump, AND she's skinny!

    Hi everyone!

allison - we are doing the same thing with our daughter. She is keeping her room, but we are shopping for a new bed for her. She is in the convertible crib (converted to the daybed right now) that she has had since she was a baby. We are turning it back into a crib for the new baby. DD has picked out bunkbeds for her new bed! She is turning 4 in a couple of weeks and is so excited. This new one will not have much new, that is for sure! I kept the swing, bouncy chair, exersaucer which I am glad I did now!
tara - I work from home as well and my office is about to become the new baby's room and I am making a new workspace in the basement. A pain, but can't put the baby in the basement!!! I have bought a few maternity pieces to wear out for dinner and to friend's, but I am living in sweats and yoga pants at home too.
nuvia -- I am huge compared to my first. With my first, like allison, I didn't show until I was almost 8 months pregnant. But with this one, there is no hiding it anymore. I just think it is because every pregnancy is different and with your second, your body is way different than it was when you were pregnant the first time so it is hard to even compare between your own pregnancies. As for your 7 year old, I was thinking my almost 4 year old would react the same way, but she is actually doing more to prove she is a big girl. I don't know if you can emphasize how great it is that she is a big girl and can be mommy's big helper, not just with the baby, but with other stuff. Maybe find something she can do and make sure she knows that the baby won't be able to it and it is hers alone...my DD wants to be able to help with all aspects of the baby so it is easy for me to emphasize that. Plus we are re-doing her room and she has a say in almost every part of it. New bed, new linens which she picked out. She is even going through all her stuff with me to see what is too small and needs to be put away.

Hope everyone is having a great week -- 4 weeks until I can find out what sex this one is...too far away!!!!

Lily~ That is funny. We have a lot in common. We have a three bedroom. I like having a spare room for guest so my husband has been finishing the basement (we have a full windowed walkout) to add a family room, a bathroom, and an office. We aren't rushing it because my desk still fits in the room with the spare bed...but my my office right now has the crib and changing table in it. We plan on flipping everything this weekend and washing the carpets in both rooms. Luckily the bedding we bought match the paint color (blue) in the nursery perfectly....so we don't have to paint. We are busy the month of May...but we are hopefully going to start sheet rocking in June. That will give us July and August to paint...get carpeting in...and maybe...depending on $ buy furniture for down there! YEAH!!!

Hello all - just wanted to check in to see how everyone is doing. I've been suffering from severe sinus headaches (and migraines) over the past week and now trying to bring myself out of an emotional slump from that. Is anyone else having sinus problems?

What about good news? Any new news to share? We worked on our registry this weekend - talk about stressful! All of this is so new to us; we had no idea what we needed versus what we didn't. At least we'll have the basics before baby comes!

Jthomas- I am sorry to hear about your sinus issues. I have had some nasty bloody noses...but nothing that has bothered me to much. Other than that I have been pretty good. I did have my first emotional breakdown of the pregnancy the other day. I was trying to talk about the items in a birth plan (I don't want a formal one..just wanted my husbands take) and he was like...we will figure that out when we get there. I was like...it is only 3 months and a week away....and that is if I go on my due date...we need to talk about this now! OPPS..sorry DH! I am sorry you are having such a hard time with the sinus problems! I hope they go away soon.

We actually have two registries. I didn't find it stressful at all. I think I had a very good idea about what we wanted. After TTC, all the advise from everyone and their brother, and the time we have spent with godchildren and nieces and nephews I knew what I wanted. If you want any advise...here are some big things I was told that I think were worth it!
    1) Don't register for clothes...people are going to get you a ton off your registry anyway..so focus on the items you need.
    2) Don't register for those first aid kits. Go out and put together your own. The stuff you need in there will go to fast and the other stuff will sit there for years.
    3) If you get a swing and a bouncy chair get two different ones. If they are both the same brand/style if the baby doesn't like one..he/she probably won't like either.
    4) Be careful with Chicco travel systems. The car seats do not fit onto grocery carts and they do not have strollers that will accommodate two kids if you have another with one in the car seat.
    5) You will get tons of towels. Register for 3 or 4 max. Make sure you go a step up on quality the cheapest ones are really thin and do not absorb.
    6) Pack and plays have some limited us. Figure out what you are going to use it for and select on that...not the coolest. A lot of them have bells and whistles you will probably never use...so registering for a $200 one versus a $100 won't get you any more.
    7) If you live in a cold environment...they will not let you leave the hospital with a bundle me. It makes to much material for the baby in the carseat and they can be dangerous when the baby is small. You are better off with one that goes on the top of the car seat.
    8) If you plan to BF...make sure you get pacifiers that are closest to breast...and don't give it to baby for a month if you can get away with it.

That is some advise I have gotten and I know they are valid since I got the advise from multiple people.

Everything is going really well here. We have past the 6 month milestone...YEAH! Next appointment is tomorrow...but I think baby is doing well because he is a little karate chopper!

I hope all is well with everyone!

JThomas, I've also dealt with sinus issues almost the whole pregnancy so far. My OB says it's probably "pregnancy rhinitis" because I don't actually feel sick, per se, just stuffed up constantly. Good times! Taraken, sounds like you got some good advice on the necessities of bringing baby home. Since we're having another little girl, we already have basically everything we need for her. I am thinking about getting a new bassinet for her though, only because I don't like the one we used for my other daughter. Plus, I want to be able to buy the baby something just for her. How is everyone doing with name decisions? My dh and I are struggling. We have four possible names and can NOT decide which name we like, or even if we like any of the names we already have enough. Anyway, I hope everyone is feeling pretty good. I have to go get my GD testing done in the next 3 weeks, so that should be exciting. Didn't have any problems last time, so I'm crossing my fingers that I can keep gorging on candy like I have been so far. This baby loves sweets!

allison - I'm finally getting used to dealing with the sinus headaches. The weird thing is I'm not congested at all - just headache issues. But it's all okay; I'm learning how to power through. We did decide on a name, and I'm pretty sure it's sticking. We're just not telling anyone! I have some very opinionated people in my family who will dislike any idea if it isn't theirs, so we're keeping this little secret to ourselves until d-day! I have my GD test next month, and I'm somewhat nervous about it, basically because I've never had this test before. I'm sure it will be fine; I always get nervous with tests!

Baby girl is kicking like a soccer player right now - love that feeling!

    Hi all!

Hope everyone is doing well. Just time for a quick note right now. We went for our 3D ultrasound today and it's a GIRL!! So, tara - I don't know what this brings our count to, but I think the girls are outnumbering the guys!

The 3D ultrasound was very cool and we got lots of great pictures. We also got our 4 year old DD a heartbeat bear which is a recording of the new baby's heartbeat which is put inside a teddy bear! She loves it!

I will post more soon...take care everyone! Here is baby girl!
