Several things: 1) Your daughter might be afraid of living by herself and the dark. 2) You might have to have her sleep by you for a while. She can that way be rest-assured that somebody is there for her when she needs it most. 3) If this continues, take her either to a doctor or child psychologist. They may tell you things that you may have not known before hand. 4) I highly recommend you checking out this website called Nogginpower2. One thing I learned from Nogginpower2 is that they have a great article on Getting a Good Night Sleep. By reading this article, you can better understand your daughter's needs and concerns. I hope this helps. Thank you and good luck.

Uh.....I don't know if your still having a problem, but you may not be letting her be for long enough. It takes about 30 minutes for them to cry it out on their own. It seems like a long time I know, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

"Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child" by Marc Weissbluth has a lot of helpful advice to help us figure out WHEN our baby needs to go to sleep and HOW to get them to sleep well independently.

Yeah, I second that. I got it after the girls started waking from their nap early. I won't lie- it may have changed our lives.
