I would love to see an article on makeup. My sister and I,african american women, have a "5 min" routine we follow as Mommies..gold eye shadow, mascara and lip gloss. Skin tone makeup and lipgloss for the various shades of color would be great. So a Mom can look "simply beautiful". :-D

I am dominican, puerto rican and a little Italian. I never really do anything to my hair besides wash and condition. It's very curly and where i use to straighten it i havent for a few year so it's all naturally curly.

My daughter is 22M and she is mixed with polish, swedish, Pennsylvania dutch, and native American from her papi side. She has these big ringlet curls and its super easy to mange. I never use anything for it but i do condition her hair when its washed.

Why do ppl always have to mention race... it seriously doesn't matter but then you ahve stupid websites that feel the need to define separation by skin color.

I know this is an old post, but I wanted to reply anyway. I agree with you that sometimes people make too big of a deal out of race. However, as a woman of color who is always complaining about "us" not being represented enough in magazines like parenting, I think this forum is necessary. I'm sure that there aren't many women of color on the contributing team, simply because most articles are geared toward women without color (aka white). So the only way for them to understand what women of color want to know more about is to ask...

I use shea butter or cocoa butter on my natural hair from time to time to help soften it and give it shine. I would like some tips on natural hair styles. I mostly just twist my hair or braid it and I'm looking for more options.

Yeah, what is this, the 1950s? There are a lot more "moms of colour" in the world than there are white moms, and when did white stop being a colour? Gah! This place!

I'm sorry, I do find the term offensive.

What is the best hair gel I can use for naturally curly hair that won't make my hair stiff as a board? Thanks!
