Default How are June 2010 due mommas doing?!

Just checking in on our June due babies! Wondering how our moms are doing as well as the little bugs to be! Has anyone found out their babies sex yet?! Have you and your significant, husband, or spouse, chosen any baby names yet? We're definitely having trouble picking out boy names (bc my hubby wants his son named after him, and I have a very hard feeling that I don't want my kids named after ANYONE!)
If anyone is already a momma, have you broken the news to your other children about the newest upcoming addition? My dd is 2yrs old, she knows there is a baby in mommy's tummy, and recently started bringing her dr stethescope to my tummy and telling me "baby is healthy momma!" So glad she's in good spirits about a baby on the way!

Sending lots of warm wishes during the holiday season, may all us momma's come out with full tummies and no extra weight gain! lol

I am due June 5th, we find out the baby's sex Jan 11th, although I have my next ob appt wed, and may find out then, it won't be 100% accurate, but if there is a penis there, the dr will be able to tell us! lol. Boys names: all we've got is Preston so far, for a girl it's a toss up betweeen Charlotte Mary, or Olivia Sue.

My dd is June 27th! No, we dont know the sex yet! I do have a question, does anyone know what protein S deficiency is?? Apparently my blood test from last week came back that I was this and now I need to start taking shots in the stomach for this?? Any and all information would be appreciated. Also, my husband and I are the only ones who know as of right now. Just coming up on 14 weeks and wanted to make it sure Im good to go before we tell anyone as we have miscarried before past 15 weeks. Im sure now its because of the protein s deficiency!

Dear San2010... Protein S Def. is a genetic (hereditary) disorder that can cause a person's platelets to clot together abnormally resulting in blood clots in your legs, lungs, brain, or placenta; these clots can even continue to form during your post-partum period as well. Protein S levels can sometimes have a falsely low reading during pregnancy but if it is truly a real Protein S Def., you should ask your doctor if you should be under care of a hemotologist (a blood specialist) or take Aspirin or some sort of blood thinning agent to prevent clots from forming. Also, if this is a true Prt. S Def., there are probably other members of your family with this disorder and they should be checked. One of my g/fs I worked with had a DVT blood clot in her leg at 40 years old... I told her to have her MD test her for the Prt S and Prt C deficiencies... her test was positive. Her other family members were tested. Her sister had the same disorder and died 2 years ago of a stroke due to a clot that formed in her brain. If this is truly a Prt S Def., this could lead to miscarriages (not saying you'll have one) but do take it seriously. There are several women who have the disorder and do well with their pregnancies so don't feel that problems will be a guarantee for you... just be under a watchful eye of your OB. I'm not a Miss know-it-all but I have quite a bit of medical knowledge so i hope this helped you. Good luck and keep us informed.

San2010 I'm not sure if you watch the Dr. Oz tv show or not, but he talked about people with the Protein S Def. as well as clots during plane flights. He stressed that if you are more prone to getting clots or have the Protein S Def. and are planning on flying at all, the best thing you can do for yourself is to take a single asprin an hr or so before getting on the plane because sitting for such a long time in a cramped place can help bring clots on.
Obviously, as a preggo, we know that the best pain med and safest one is Acetaminophen which is found in Tylenol. You should perhaps bring this up with your dr and see what he or she says about whether or not it would be safe to take an asprin, if you fly that is.
Good luck to you and hopes that your pregancy goes well! Keep us updated and post if you ever want to just talk!

Heres a quick update on my status with the protein s def. I went to clinic this am and the nurse showed me how to give myself a shot in the stomach each morning, its 40mg of lovunaz (sp?)! I feel much comfortable about it now as the nurse who showed me also had these same shots when she was pregnant and she did the shot for me. Now i just need to be able to do it in the morning!

Sarah - the only thing I am thinking is do you see anything like a vericose vein sticking out?? My co-worker has this problem only when shes pregnant and its really painful and she has had to start wearing support stockings??! Just a thought!

Tmonfet01 - By the way thanks for the info and I also wanted to let you know that I do take a low dosage aspirin once a day as my doctor has had me doing this since before I was pregnant!

Im dunno whats going on nor does the other dr at the office I go to. i ended up calling them this morning because it hurt so bad I couldnt sleep. They said to come in that it might be a blood clot. Well I got there told her what was going on.. No Idea! So she told me to take tylonal and in a week come back when my actual dr was there. So we shall see.
Oh funny story! The dr went to listen to the heart beat and my little one kept kicking the doppler. As if to say "quit touching me, trying to sleep here" Lol took a couple minutes of moving and kicking to finally listen to it.So cute. i can already tell my little one gunna be just like his daddy.
