contraction?

im 34 and a half weeks pregnant with my little boy and i think im starting to have contractions but im not real sure since this is my first child. Im scared and im not sure what to look for and if its too early for me to possibly go into labor. I dont think bh contractions should be this painful. it feels like intense period cramps. My back hurts, and my stomach gets super tight. Help ladies!

I was going to say try laying down and see if it goes away. You could just be over-exerting yourself. But calling your doc is probably a good idea too!

If they're not consistent, they're probably just Braxton Hicks.

If there is no real pattern and they are not getting stronger, chances are they are just braxton hicks. I would still call your dr. though, just to make sure... especially with the pain spreading to the back.

Even if they are not consistent they can be the real deal. Mine where never consistent with my son untill my water completely broke. I am having them now, but trying to hold out as long as I can. I have a month left before this one is due. If they are still going tomorrow we will head to the doctors just due to how my labor went the first time.
