    Default lipil formula

My son (9 months old) has had constant diarrhea. His doctor said it is from the lipil ingredients in his formula. Of course, she advised to switch to non lipil formulas but the problem is I'm on wic...i dont think i could afford his formula on my own. wic does not have a non lipil formula on their list of allowable formulas. has anyone else heard about the lipil-diarrhea issue and does anyone know of a formula i could switch him to?

All you need is a doctor's note stating that your baby cannot tolerate the lipil formula and what is reccommended for your baby. They will change your baby's formula but only with the doctor's note. Please talk with your doctor about what kind of formula is reccommended for your son, switching formulas can make your baby sick. Good Luck!!

I agree with thirtysomething, I needed a doctor's note to get my son switched to the soy formula. Ask WIC to provide you with the form you need because they have a specific form (at least here they do), then take it to the doctor to have him sign it. But I have never heard of lipil causing diarrhea, it's suppose to make formula easier for babies not harder. Has your son had this reaction for the whole nine months, or is this something new? If he is just now starting to react to the formula, I would suggest keeping a food journal to make sure it's not anything else that could be causing the tummy problems.
Life is an adventure, I share every day with my two beautiful children.
