Default Did you marry your father?

You know how they say that girls marry guys who have a ton of similarities to their dads? Is this true for you?

For me it totally is but I didn't notice it until my husband said "Do you realize how much I have incommon with your dad?" And then when I started to look at it, it's true! They both like and dislike a lot of the same things. They are very different in someways too but there are deffinitely more similarities!

I totally didn't marry my father, my sister did. My dad and brother in law go fishing every weekend and go to sporting events and go on vacations together all the time, it's more like my brother in law married my father. My husband could not be more different than my father.

    No, not at all.
My husband is a LOT like my stepfather, though.
But strangely, my dad and my father in law are practically the same person!

Not really, except that they are both in the military. My husband is much funnier and more communicative than my dad. They are both great dads though!

nope not at all, or like my step-dad. he's very different from both of them. i think he's more like my grandpa but not to much . but thats who i lived with most my life. so thats why i think it is what father figure you had in your life.

My hubby is a lot like my dad - similar hobbies, likes, dislikes, general attitude. I didn't realize it while we were dating or even while we were engaged, but once we got married, I could totally see my dad in my husband (and vice versa). And while the idea COULD be kinda creepy (j/k ), I have an AMAZING father and I know my hubby will be just as great a daddy as mine!!!

The only characteristics I can see in my husband and father is they are very giving people and want to help others..and they have the same occupation. If you really look hard enough, anyone can resemble someone else in their attitude, goals, morals, traits, etc. It is kind of like your horoscope...you can read it and make it relate if you want to.

I SO did not marry my father. My dad is all about the yard work, "playing with sawdust" he likes to build things, watching DIY and can fix just about anything. My darling husband is a self proclaimed Geek. He is Mr. Fix-it in the computer sense. Knows enough to get by about fixing something in a car, does yard work when it needs it badly enough and unless it comes with instructions on how to build it, forget it. It's really cute actually.

In a lot of ways, yes. My dad and my husband are both very generous and kind. And they both are very stubborn and hard headed when they want to be. But they are completely different when it comes to what they like. My dad likes country music and my husband like head banging crap. Josh likes hockey and dad likes football. Their personalities are a lot alike but they do not really share any interests.
