Both my husband and I are very active and after our son was born we both stopped our activities for a few months. It drove us crazy! I We set up a gym in our basement for all three of us. We have an elliptical and a treadmill, and my son has his door jumper and exer-saucer. We try to work out for 20 minutes or until our son has had enough. My son and I also joined a baby yoga class which was a great experience for both of us. We want to teach our son at a young age how important it is to stay active and healthy.

I believe getting back to your pre pregnancy weight and clothes start from when you become pregnant all the way to delivery. I gained weight fast in some months but i always stayed in the weight recommendations. I stayed away from to much fats and salts. I tried not to eat out to much and i didnt indulge in all of my cravings. I walked, mainly for delivery. so when i left the hospital i only had 7 pounds to lose. this happened with both my children. I breastfeed and only ate what i was suppose too. within a month or two i was back to my pre pregnancy weight... however, I am actually struggling to gain weight now so i am below my pre pregnancy weight. I think this is because of how active and how i dont eat foods high in fat, sugar, salts and sodium.

Honestly, for me, I think it was all about the breastfeeding. I did have a lot of fluid but I lost 22.5 pounds within the first two and a half weeks. This is not to give into the formula vs. breastfeeding debate, you should do what makes you happy. But, I cannot imagine being back in my jeans by week 8 if I didn't breastfeed. I also did Weight Watchers for breastfeeding moms for a few weeks and I think that sealed the deal.

The biggest mistake I made was....
"Oh I will loose the weight after I have this baby"
That's about as funny as setting an alarm clock when having a newborn in the house.

I was about 150 before I was pregnant
Right before I gave birth I weighed in at 218 pounds that's a 68 pound weight gain! Now I'm right at 173 pounds 6 months later.

    I too like Momcap1 have the ellipitical and treadmill. Though I'm finding with a child it's so hard to plan a workout. My daughter is a cat napper during the day. Once she falls asleep I don't know if it's going to be for 5 min. or an hour. And once she does fall asleep do I want to;

    1: Relax
    2: Clean
    3: Workout
    ????
    Usually 1 or 2

My daughter does sleep well through the night and I should just workout when her dad leaves for work at 5:30, but yuck. That sounds like so much work that early!

I still have a good 20-25 pounds to loose to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight and would like to actually loose a little more and get down to 130.

This is how I've lost the 45 some pounds so far.

1: Pushed out the kid! That knocked an easy 20 pounds off in the first 3 weeks after giving birth.

    2: Breast feeding.

3: Not having time to think about food. I had to remind myself to eat and find a moment to do so. At dinner the first few months it was a coin toss of who ate dinner cold, mommy or daddy. ( Mia was super colicky )-
Now it's a little easier to eat with a happy 6 month old.

4: WALKING OUTDOORS. I had Mia in July and I took that girl for walks in her stroller around town just about 5 days a week for 45 min.- 2 hours sometimes.

They make super small strollers now. I'm so glad we bought the big one because I would go grocery shopping and fill up every empty space of that stroller with grocerys then push it up the hill home. NOW THAT'S A WORKOUT!

Being that I live in the Seattle area and it's January. The weather does not permit much outdoor walking. Though when it's not raining or too cloudy we will bundle up and go out for a stroll.

For now I basically been trying to watch my diet. And do a lot of lifting and playing with my daughter.

I have been trying to eat 5-6 small meals and have been seeing results from that so far too the past couple weeks.

Weightloss is so hard without a baby. So, I'm proud of what I have accomplished so far.

I took an old Army trick and went on a ruck. When I was in Basic Training, the most weight loss and toning that happened was on our ruck marches (long walks with a backpack).
I got the Infantino Front to Back Carrier, slapped my baby on the front, got a backpack and put the essentials in it (equal to the weight of the baby to balance me out), slapped that on my back, and went for a walk. I hit up some of the local hiking trails and enjoyed the ocean views from 1100 feet! Isaac loved it because he's outdoors and seeing something he's never seen before, and I can go at my own pace in a relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere.
I'm down 15 lbs in 2 mos. Just make sure you EAT (DO NOT SKIP MEALS - it kills your metabolism and causes your body to store everything), drink water like its going out of style and stretch (prevents injury).

Smile How I lost the weight

I gained 60 lbs with my son!!! Albeit, i did have pre-eclampsia and alot of it was fluid, alot of it was also fat!!!

I graduated college and had my son in the same month, so for a post-grad/post-baby gift, my mom paid for my gym membership 1 year in advance. I also began dieting (not to extremes, just watching calories as i was breastfeeding).

I stopped breastfeeding after 7 months. I began working out more and also started slimfast. I lost 30 lbs in 3 months!!!

It has taken almost 2 years but I have now passed my pre-baby self and I've lost a total of 70 lbs! I may not look the same but i'm VERY proud!!!

I love doing cardio classes and oatmeal is my weakness!!!

Personally I always get a month membership to a gym, and start working out 4 -6weeks after I have my baby. It gives me a much needed break from the baby while they go to the child care center at the gym, too. I'm usually so burned out from working out after a month, though, that I quit. But that, coupled with breastfeeding, is usually how I get to within 5 lbs. of being happy with my weight.

I gain 47 lbs w my son. Started at 165. went up to 212. Lost about 32 after just 2 wks after baby. Then started to workout to shed the rest off. Did a few diffenet diets, which included the cabbage soup diet, strick calorie counting. and a natural cleanse w apricot, fig, and senna leaves. Biggest help. Got down to 168. Working to get the rest of the weight off that I also gaind before pregnancy. Weight at 148. Starting a new gym and weight watchers

Default I did it with Yoga!

When I had my son, there wasn't much time to do anything so going to the gym was pretty much out of the question. I started doing yoga in between his naps and feedings and I started to feel like I was myself again. It helped me relax, get in shape, and I didn't have to leave him which was a really big thing for me. Now that he's almost a year old we go running around the neighborhood and I have started using YogaEarth products to help replenish my electrolytes. It helps me get the most out of my yoga experience as well as my running and I feel (and look) a lot better than I have in a long time. I hope this helps! http://bit.ly/atPs5N
