I am also a newbie to the group! We find out a week from today on the 5th of Jan. We have a 4yr old daughter that will turn 5 three months after the baby is born. We (as in the WHOLE family) are really hoping for boy. All the babies/children in the immediate family are all girls. 5 in total. We would be VERY happy with either or but this family just need a boy lol. We have names picked for both just in case ;o).

Welcome, newcomers. That's a lot of May boys! Let us know how that u/s goes, Amber--I hope you'll get your boy, too. And congratulations Cass, Kristin and LilMomma on your little guys! Cass, I know that's what you were yearning for and I'm so glad for you.

It's pretty sure that we're having one of each because another u/s has confirmed it. We couldn't be happier. I can tell which is which when they kick because one is way down low and the other up high to the right, so I can put my husband's hand on the spots and tell him, that's our son kicking you now, and over here, that's our daughter. I love it. When we went to stay with my parents in the US over the holidays, people gave us tons of stuff, matching little boy and girl outfits and blankies. Not too practical and we had to get an extra suitcase to lug it back but so much fun! Like playing dolls.

Now that we know the genders, it's time to settle on names. It goes back and forth but this week we're feeling like it might be Joseph Daniel and Anna Maureen. Other weeks it's Daniel Joseph and Mary Ruth. What do you ladies think? What names are you all thinking of for your kids?

Ombeline - I love the name Anna Maureen and both version's of your boy's name are adorable.

We're going with Dustin Jones for our little boy. It makes it so real to have a name to go along with the ultrasound pics.

Are ya'll feeling your babies move a lot? I still haven't been able to distinguish between gas and Dustin moving unless he decides to sit on my bladder...LOL

hello ladies... its been awhile.. I actually have been cheating on ya with the April thread since my doc said I would probably be April 28th when I deliver (c-section)
My little man moves around alot, My husband can now feel him too which makes it all real.
I go to a surgeon today. They think I might have a hernia because my belly button KILLS me. So my doctor wants a surgeon to take a look to makes sure it isn’t harming me or the baby. I am just thinking positive about it though.
Well I am starting my 6th month... the last month of the second trimester. So almost 2/3 the way thru!!

I like the name Dustin, Cass. Solid and strong, and not too common these days even thought it's classic. I only know one Dustin (my half-step-brother), actually.

Hey Jboz, I hope you and your baby are OK. My mom had a hernia around her navel, too. She had a deep deep innie that popped inside out whenever she was pregnant and during the third pregnancy it kind of gave up and collapsed (no harm to my brother, born at over 10 lbs). She said it hurt horribly during pregnancy but actually she's still got the hernia more than 20 years later--the doc has always said hers is small and harmless and it doesn't hurt her at all anymore but they keep an eye on it.

I may be joining you in April, actually. My goal is to get into May, even by a few days. My dream goal is 37-38 weeks. But statistics and gravity and anatomy are all against me! If I can make it to week 36, around April 23, and avoid a long NICU stay I'll be grateful. Then again, my mom and grandmother always had humongous babies who never came early and maybe it'll all work out like that for me. I don't think I could carry two 10-pounders at once for any amount of time, though. I'd burst at the seams first...

Sorry it's been a while...It's a GIRL for us! We are so excited, all boys in both mine and my hubby's family. Cali Renee will be the name although we've not decided on the spelling yet. Any suggestions?

A boy for Amber, just as she hoped, and a girl for Karen! Cali Renee is nice. I especially like Renee as a middle name. Are you pronouncing Cali as Cay-lee or Cal-lee? That might help you decide on the spelling. We should make a complete list of who is having what, due dates, name ideas for all the May babies. I'll try to get around to it!
    Congrats, gals.
Jboz, what did you find out from the surgeon?

It is a hernia OM. The surgeon is monitoring me every 4 weeks and my OB every 2 weeks. My OB doc cut my hours to 6 hours a day. There hoping it doesn’t get to big that it will harm the baby because if they do surgery now it would put me in to labor. So they will wait and after I have the baby and my uterus goes down and do surgery on it. So probably when the baby is 6weeks old..
Ugh It hurts!! They gave me pain med so that helps some. Blah blah I hate complaining!
I know this is all worth it I know
