    Default Night Training

After a year we are officially day time potty trained! She hasn't had any accidents for over a month so I think we are ready to focus on night training. Any tips?

Night training can take just as long as day training, maybe even longer. I'd continue to wear pull ups on her at night. Make sure you have her go to the bathroom right before bed and try to cut of liquids 1/2 hour or so before bedtime.

I used stickers to reward my boys for a dry night. After 5 stickers they got a small prize, usually a matchbox car. After a few weeks of consistantly staying dry at night, she's probably ready for panties at night. Some kids take along time to stay dry at night because they are deep sleepers and don't feel the urge to go to the bathroom. Both my boys took over a year to be night time trained.

Please don't punish her if she has an accident at night. She's not doing it on purpose and it could really hurt her self esteem. Not that I think you would punish her, I'm just putting it out there for everyone who may read this.

After this last year I know I may be in for a long haul, but I also know that she will succeed in her own time. I just hope it isn't too horribly long! We will be taking it slow with her especially because we know she sleep walks so we won't be trying panties at night until she has at least a month dry.

We bought her a Cinderella toddler bed to help encourage her to stay dry and to take naps. We've only had it for one night but so far so good! We bought a 63 piece puzzle that she can earn a piece of for every accident free day and another for every dry night. And when she has the full puzzle on the wall she will get a Cinderella dress!

We'll gladly take any tips to help the process go as smooth as possible.

Love it!!!! I hate to admit it, but at 36 I'm jealous of a child!!!! I wish I had a Cinderella bed, she's my favorite princess. Sorry, being the only girl in the house I sometimes channel my inner little girl.
