I had my Implanon taken out on April 22, 2010. I have yet to have a period and I have been having a bunch of weird symptoms. Some things I am reading people are saying are normal, weight gain, cravings, always hot, seenstive to smells, and weird cramps. I have taken 3 tests and they are all negative. I don't know what it all is but my husband and I are trying for our first baby so hopefully my body will start acting normal and working right. Anybody else go thru this?

Hi Alayna's Momma I have just joined today and must congratulate you how fantastic a new little bub on the way... I am booked in for next Wed to have my Implanon removed but unlike you all I have had mine in since 2003 oops so naughty and thinking that you should be able to get pregnant when it expires I haven't, we have been trying for 18 mths so I finally found a lovely doctor who explained that even though it wouldn't be realeasing the contraceptive side of things it could still have and effect on your reproduction.... I have 2 beautiful children and my daughter shares her birthday with your little girl.... Goodluck to you all that are having your Implanon removed I will let you know how we go.....

Hi again! 25 weeks now! Found out we are having another beautiful girl due September 20th, 2010!! My girl, Alayna was due on Sept. 15th, 2007 and came on the 7th so pretty ironic! My doctor was veeery interested in hearing my story about the Implanon as he mostly deals with women coming off the pill. As I said before, took less than 3 months to get pregnant. As for testing, I was testing every week!! But then I was getting so disappointed I stopped for 4 weeks and low and behold I got pregnant during that time. I didn't do the whole tracking your ovulation or anything- just had lots-a-fun I can't believe some of your periods started right away! Mine took about 5 weeks, kinda had me worried! And I have had it out for 8 months and my scar is still bright pink and ugly O well it was worth my piece of mind knowing my kids won't be born back to back. I really really really didn't want that!! Anyways Congrats and Good luck to everyone! Can't wait to meet my new baby girl, Avery Marlie!

Hello ladies. I have had implanon for 8 months and am now ready for #3. I had it removed 1 week ago. I was on a "period" when I had it removed, however, they were not regular and only occasional. I hope to be pregnant soon. Good luck to all of you who are trying to conceive and congrats to you who already have!

I just had the Implanon removed after having it just shy of 3 years. My husband and I both wanted to try for a baby. Plus the Implanon had me sick! It started out great but then after having it for about two in a half years, my periods came back! Each time I was about to start, a new symptom came around. It got to the point where each time I thought I would be pregnant. I cant tell you how much money I spent on pregnancy test! By the time I had it removed on June 14, 2010, I had been bleeding nonstop since mid March. But after having it removed (I am talking about days aferward) we conceived! I found out on July 8,2010! My estimated due date is March 23, 2011! I am so happy! I thought it would take months to become pregnant. So wish me luck! LOL.

    Default Implanon

I am glad to hear some people actually had a good experience w/ Implanon. I actually gained 50lbs. and had a really bad time w/ it. I had it removed yesterday and it was rather painful becuase it was stuck. as of today I am bruised and still bleeding a little. We are hoping to get pregnant so i am hoping it happens quick because it is our 5th baby and we do not want to wait long, and i do not want to be pregnant through the summer.

Congratulations on the baby soon to arrive. I am hoping I have the same kind of luck that you guys had. I had my period the whole time so I am hoping it doesn't stop so that we are able to conceive quickly. I hope to see pics really soon!
