    Question Car seat suggestions

    Hi guys,

I’m a soon-to-be mom and am having some trouble figuring out which car seat to buy. I don’t want to strap my daughter in and have her come out upside down! Can anyone recommend something? I was doing some snooping around online and found a site that’s offering a convertible car seat for free. I know you need to fill out a few other things to get it, but who cares? Free is free. Anyway, I’d love all the suggestions I can get. If anyone else is interested in a good car seat, here’s the place.

    Thanks for your help!

We got a Graco travel system and the infant carrier was absolutely great. audrey outgrew it somewhat quickly because she's so big. Now she's in a Britax Boulevard CS. I love the Britax. I have a lot of confidence in its quality and safety and Audrey loves sitting in it. It has great side impact protection for her head, easily adjustable straps, nice cushy fabric and the "Click and Safe" system that clicks when the straps are tightened properly.

The Britax is one of the most expensive car seats out there but a convertible car seat will last you a long time and they have a great reputation for being incredibly safe.

I love our Graco Snug Fit infant carrier. I know that I'll need a convertible car seat at some point, but the Graco's are a blessing with the way they snap in and out of the car without having to unhook baby. I also feel like they are a safe place for baby to sit while at restaurants, store, church, etc since she can't sit up yet and I don't want to lay her down in dirty booths, shopping carts, etc.

Also not sure how "free" your car seat is when you have to sign up for 3 other offers to get it... I stick with straight purchases so I don't get a lot of other stuff I don't want.

My suggestion is by the smallest and lightest carseat you can find!!

With my daughter I had a graco. And I love graco's but her's was extremely heavy and was wider and longer than the other gracos. I ended up leaving the carseat in the car and taking her out as she got bigger.

Just think at one point in time you will be carrying a 20 lb kid in the carseat. Thats not fun when the carseat itself is 30 lbs.

I'm expecting another baby in 6 weeks and I'm using a much smaller graco this time.

Graco's are great because they pretty much universally fit in all strollers and stroller attachments are really easy to find for gracos.
