Question diet may determine sex of baby

My friend showed me this last night to tell me that our having a third boy was my fault. I said, I thought the dad determined that! So, read on, and make up your own mind if you think it's bogus or not.

No wonder I have two boys. I better cut those calories when my dh and I try again lol. It's an interesting study.

hmmm. I'm not convinced. When I concieved my diet was horrible. not in that I had a high calorie diet but in that I usually slept through breakfast, skipped lunch, didn't snack and would eat a normal sized meal for dinner. I didn't always eat a healthy meal but more often than not it was fairly healthy, not mcDonalds or anything like that. a lot of meat and potatoes, pasta and salad, and only the occasional fast or fried food. So I can't imagine that my diet then was high calorie. It was more Likely that I didn't get enough calories and I'm having a boy. It would be interesting to see the demographics of the study and how diverse they were. people of lower incomes tend not to eat a healthy diet (not by choice, see thread "expense of healthy diet").

I ate a lot of high calorie food when I was expecting my first as I was underweight to begin with and then with morning sickness lost weight so the doc told me to pack on those calories for baby. My first is a girl. Then with my second I ate very healthy as that is the way I feed my daughter so never really had the chance to eat bad with this one and yup, he is a boy! LOL

yeah right, I only ate twice a day usually, or if I ate a third time, it was very little, simply because of my schedule. Trust me, not a very high calorie diet, and yet, I had a boy. Seriously, it is the man that determines the sex, and it's just a matter of which sperm is the most mobile and is quickest to join the egg.

those aren't very conclusive statistics, i have a feeling the statistics for orientation of mother's body at time of conception may hold more water than those ones

    Default Hummmmm....

    Hi,

I don't mean to discourage watching the diet while being pregnant but I think it is a myth. And such myth has been around for long time in many countries. In Asia, it used to be a pure pressure for a woman to have a boy. And there were a lot of myth and method to conceive a boy. But I recently read an article that the sex of baby is determined by sperm. There are a lot of articles on this but here is one of them.

So, I guess that it would be up to your hasband if you have a boy or a girl.

Currently I am still trying to conceive our first baby and it's always a exciting to think if we will have a baby girl or baby boy. Our conclusion is that either one is awesome for us.

That's a load of BS!!!! I have a high calorie diet and I am having a girl (first baby). I'm also a strong believer in fate. I think we are all just blessed with whatever we are supposed to get according to what God wants us to have.
