    Default First-timer: April 2010

Hello, all. First-timer here; just found out last week. I'm due on April 29th, 2010. So far I'm exhausted all the time and have gained three pounds in one week. The weird thing is that I haven't eaten enough to justify that three pounds. (I know what it takes to make me gain three pounds in one week and believe me, I haven't been doing that!)

I don't usually bloat very much at all during my periods, so I'm not too sure what it's supposed to feel like. That said, do you guys think this is water weight or bloating as my uterus begins to increase in size?

Also: crazy upper-arm acne, first time in my life. Anyone had this before?

Hey, congrats! So you've already been to the doctor? I'm jealous. Mine won't see me for another two weeks. I tried to insist on an earlier date but the nurse said there'd be no point in the doc seeing me that early.

If I'd been tempted to freak out about this, that nurse would have brought me right down to earth -- to her it seemed like the least important thing in the world. Good to have that sanity check, I guess.

Good to know there's another first-timer out there. Keep me updated.

    Smile 1st time Mom

I found out very early that I am expecting b/c I had been doing fertility treatments for 3 years. I have had a lot of symptoms early on. So far, I have had lower back pain, extreme thirstiness and sleeplessness. Seems the increased progesterone that makes you sleepy during the day (I have that too!) also works to keep you awake at night! Figures...

I tested postive WAY early - four days before my missed period. I actually went to the doctor because my blood pressure went CRAZY - shot up to 160/100 and I had the worst headache ever. They put me on some baby safe meds and I feel much better.

I have gained a little weight, but my belly is already bigger! I am not sure how much longer my jeans will fit me. My first ultrasound is 9/3 and I am so excited! It is a great possibility I am having more than one. According to the Chinese Baby Calendar, it's a girl, but I am hoping its one of each!

I am due April 25th, which also happens to be MY birthday!!!

Congrats, NewMom -- what kind of fertility treatments did you do? I wasn't aware that progesterone makes you sleepy, but it makes sense. Something is making me sleepy all the time.

My belly's also bigger already, which is weird. At this rate I'll be up a dress size before the end of the first trimester.

Well I am due May the 8th. But there are nobody in the MAY part.

    So here I am.

This is my second baby. My son is 4 and we are very excited.
I am 5 weeks and went to the doctor yesterday. Feeling a little sick here and there but mostly I just have acne which I have never had in my life. Yuck

Morning sickness has hit me with a vengeance too. I'm constantly nauseated -- probably 90% of the time I'm awake. I normally eat a decent diet of green vegetables, whole grains, grilled meat, and oily low-mercury seafood like sardines and herring, but right now all of that seems way too complex and weird. (God, how did I ever eat herring? The very mention of it right now makes me want to run to the bathroom.)

The only food that really sounds safe to me is junky stuff like french fries, but I'm making do with only semi-junky things like mozzarella salad, hummus, pitas, v8 and salty soup. It's a good thing I've got my prenatal vitamins, because the big leafy green salads I was eating every day last week are history. Salt seems to be the big thing right now -- as long as something is salty enough, and it's not too healthy, I can keep it down.

And of course, I'm swelling up like a balloon in consequence. Even my fat jeans are tight now. Lame.

I'm headed off to buy some of those "preggie pops" now. I find the name a little too cutesy but after five days of this, I'll try ANYTHING.

HI!! I'm new to this forum but I'm due in April with our first child, which we just found out is a girl. I've read the other posts and I have to say that my pregnancy seems to be going much easier than the rest of you ladies have. My due date is actually april 12th. I really hope this baby comes on time 'cause if she comes early there's a chance she'll be here on my birthday and I really don't want to spend my birthday in labor.
