We attended a wedding a few weekends ago, and although I have a blood
clot history, my doctor gave me clearance to travel. He told me not to
miss a dose of blood thinners—I give myself daily shots— on the days
I’d be traveling, and that it’d be smart to get up and walk around on
the plane throughout the flight. Easy enough, right?
Was traveling while pregnant, for you, a breeze, or a nightmare? Do tell.
On my babymoon when I was pregnant with Alex. It was
heavenly...
As I mentioned on Monday, one of the things I want to accomplish before the baby is born (in three months—yipes!) is a little getaway with Nick. I’m anticipating our relationship may take a hit when baby Ruddy number two arrives so we may as well enjoy each other’s company while we still can, right?
We’re back from our little trip to Florida and, thanks in part to all of your encouraging comments, we decided to brave The Magic Kingdom for a day trip on Friday. Well, it was…AMAZING. One of the best
days the Ruddy family has ever had. Seriously. It helped that the
weather was perfect (80 degrees and sunny but no humidity) and the
crowds were practically non-existent, I guess because it was a school
day not during a holiday of any sort (and, I suppose, the old recession
ain’t quite over…). We barely waited on a single line all day. And
having my mom with us made it even more special.
I’m off to Florida today for a much-needed mini-vacation—we’re going to my parents’ place so it will be low-key but still just what the doctor ordered. There will be lots of golfing and swimming and sunshine but we’re also considering a day trip to Disney. I’m thinking I will be able to brave the chaos and the heat for Alex’s benefit. And Nick’s, too. He’s never been to Disney World and I really want him to experience it. We figured taking the plunge before baby number two comes might be a good idea.
Shawn: "Sure, it helps to know what a mucus plug is, but mostly guys need books that offers simple, streamlined, practical info that doesn't get bogged down with a lot of 'medical diagrams' or 'compound sentences.' Well have I got the book for you, Pops." Updated frequently.
