If you're among the 20 bajillion families headed to the airport this holiday season, here's a little perk: Google has teamed up with 47 airports to bring you free wireless Internet access from November 16, 2009 – January 15, 2010.

Free Holiday WiFi.com has a list of participating airports.

To further this good deed, they're promoting the Give Back program. Donate to one of their featured charities, and Google will double your donation!

There's also a fun photo contest. Simply submit a photo of you using the free WiFi to win great prizes.

Flight delay ennui + free Internet = problem solved!

Mommy blogger, did you know the government is basically calling you Winona Ryder in Saks Fifth Avenue? As most of the blogosphere knows by now, on Oct 5th the Federal Trade Commission announced it was amending its laws about advertising endorsements and testimonials to include mommy bloggers. Ever notice how some commercials show a guy talking about how much he loves soap but in fine print it says "not a soap user"? Or a Internet dating site shows an amorous couple and the 12-point font blurb "not actual love. she just really wants to travel this summer...alone...without him"? Well now the government wants bloggers to admit upfront whether they were paid or compensated for endorsing a product in their blog.

Can you believe this? What in the name of delicious new Jalapeno Popper-flavored Doritos is going on here? Does the government think that just because we love the smooth refreshing taste of A&W root beer that someone will just send it to 460 N. Orlando Avenue in Winter Park, Florida? That's absolutely positively Zestfully clean ridiculous. So be aware, blog readers: look for notices at the bottom of each entry that say "This is a paid endorsement" or "I enjoyed this product mostly because it arrived for free in my mailbox."

While the media made mommy bloggers appear to be the sole target of the FTC, that's incorrect. The new amendments also target celebrities. That's right: the goverment is cracking down on celebs, who, according to the FTC, "have a duty to disclose their relationships with advertisers when making endorsements outside the context of traditional ads, such as on talk shows or in social media." Drew Barrymore, when you went on Jay Leno and talked about how you make the best grilled cheeses with Kraft Singles, you were paid? So what are you saying? Did you bring those Reese's Pieces to the set of E.T. too?

So stay sharp, brave consumer. While there are times when the government will intervene, you will typically face these challenges alone. Like the time I kept pushing those big nacho chips into the dip and they kept breaking. Then I tried Tostito's Scoops, the bite-size chip that goes great with any dip or salsa.**

**I am currently eating free salsa^^

I don’t think this is what Obama had in mind when he talked about teachable moments with kids, but what the heck…

There’s a hidden benefit in playing video games: learning about classical music. This, I found out last night at Video Games Live!, a totally unique musical experience dreamt up by video game music composers Tommy Tallarico and Jack Wall. Three giant screens showed spliced video game footage, while a live orchestra and choir performed (mostly) classical music from the games.

And the kids -- and, yes, adults in anime-like costumes -- went wild. The highlights included an awesome take on the The Legend of Zelda and sweet remixes of cult classics, like Castlevania and Donkey Kong. Kids will more likely go crazy for the music from newer, more visually dramatic, games like Halo, Final Fantasy, and the World of Warcraft, though.

Tallarico was an entertaining host -- and personable and charming enough to convince a mom that a kid can be a gamer and a social rock star: “Some people think that video game music is nothing but simplistic bleeps and bloops,” he opened up, successfully pulling a boo out of the crowd. “This is an art form! There’s a reason why video games are the entertainment of choice for the 21st Century!”

So fess up: have you ever paid attention to the soundtrack to your kids' video games before?

Have you seen Flickr's new Galleries feature? In their own words:

For whatever you find interesting, fascinating, or mind-blowing on Flickr, galleries are a way to curate up to 18 public photos or videos of your fellow members into one place around a theme, an idea or just because.

Here are a few of my favorites so far:

Kid + Cat Scream
Word Art
Puppy Pouts
I Am Superman
A Red Tutu
Balloons

The "add to gallery" feature could also come in handy when you're gathering inspiration for a birthday party, a baby shower, nursery décor...or, if you just feel like drooling over some Donut Porn, there's that too.

BTW...wish you could learn how to take better photos without investing a huge amount of time or money? Check out the Digital Days weekend workshops presented by our sister site, Pop Photo. Upcoming locations include Portland, OR, Dallas, TX, and Albuquerque, NM -- check the site for details!

If you’re not on Twitter already, you’ve probably heard about it. Personally, I joined just to follow celebrity moms like Denise Richards and Ashlee Simpson. (Both avid tweeters.)

Millions of moms (famous and not) are sharing all kinds of things. Making lunch? Tell Twitter. Shopping with baby? Tell Twitter. Going into labor? Tell Twitter?!

Sara Williams, wife of Twitter CEO Evan Williams, proved this month that nothing is too personal for Twitter when she posted updates from the delivery room like this one:

@Sara -- "Epidural, yes please."

Her 14,000-plus Twitter followers knew when her water broke, when she arrived at the hospital, and (thanks for the startling news, Sara…) that contractions are indeed painful.

I joke, but could Twitter actually have a place in the delivery room -- a nice distraction from the painful experience of labor, or a way to keep loved ones up to speed?

What do you think, moms? Would you ever tweet during labor?
