As if I needed another excuse to go in and drool over the new Stella McCartney collection for Gap Kids. The ridiculously amazing clothes and accessories for fashion-forward tots have been calling my name for awhile now (seriously, the zippered-skinny jeans and MJ-inspired jacket are to-die-for). I have been a good girl, though. After all, the holidays are quickly approaching and I concede that the last thing my daughter needs are more clothes to stuff into her already overflowing closet.

But my inability to pass up a sale, coupled with a desire to give back (can't you just see the glowing halo over my head?), supersedes that nagging frugal side (read: my husband). Lucky for me, The Gap Inc. is participating in the Give & Get Program benefiting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and is offering a downloadable 30 percent off coupon valid for four days only (November 12 - 15) at The Gap, Banana Republic and Old Navy stores. Five percent of your sale goes straight to LLS.

That's right, cute kids in cool, discounted clothes can now literally cure cancer. Argue with that one, hubby.

All right, moms of little girls. How much willpower do you have? Today's temptation comes in the form of amazing, OMG-she’ll-be-the-cutest-one-at-grandma’s dresses. Now, I know we’ve all discovered fortitude we didn’t know we had in these economic times, but as the mom of a 6-year-old little diva myself, I know sometimes...you just have to. This may be one of those times.

Meet Cupcakes and Pastries, a trendy, chic, versatile line with an ethnic flair. Though they debuted this past spring, they are still under the radar…but not for long, I’m sure. The fabrics, patterns, and trimmings will make her the star of the show this holiday season, a standout in a sea of traditional velvet and plaid. And after the holidays, the frocks live on as tunics that are just as stylish over jeans. Sizes run from 12-18 months up to 8.

the piggy story dress

Look what I’ve found! Things kids love to call their own -- craft kits, suitcases, aprons, totes, their own tableware sets -- in fresh, fun, retro prints for both boys and girls. (Yup, The Piggy Story line has cute pickings for little dudes, too.) And it’s all to die for.

Adorable pigs are the stars of many of the prints, but check out the cow print for boys and spring fling for girls too. From doodle pads to backpacks, you’ll have a hard time picking just one treasure for your child. Also, these are great gift ideas too -- no-fail presents for nieces, nephews, or that preschool best friend. To see the whole line, go to www.thepiggystory.com.

I know, it can’t be...clothes for boys that you would actually get excited about buying? I found a few sources of this rare commodity I want to share.

Mamas (and aunties) of males should bookmark www.littleboychic.com, with a huge selection of hip, unique boys’ lines -- even tuxes and suits for special occasions. You can shop by style, age, or brand and they gift wrap for only $1. Check out this Claesen Stars Unionsuit!

If your taste runs more sweet than modern, visit www.thebabygardner.com. It’s page after page of old-fashioned, irresistible finds, like the Sharing Ice Cream Shortall. (And I dare you to resist the Ollie the Octopus wool felt crib shoes.)

www.mommycouturedesigns.com just started carrying Colette Kids’ uber-cool collection of boys tees. They feature animal designs, but not the ho-hum variety. These really have a modern edge that’ll really set your kid apart.
