I was nearly in tears Sunday-shoe-shopping for Z because I refuse to pay $18-25 for black dress shoes he will only wear once or twice a month, and therefore grow out of in two to four wearings. Thank goodness for lightly-worn consignment shops with other people's shoes for sale.
