It can be heartbreaking

Since I was oh lord so little I had a name picked out for my first daughter. My cousin, who was also my best friend, was also in love with the name and we decided that it didnt matter we could both use the name. Well when I was pregnant with my first I shared the name with my husband, he wasnt thrilled. Then he told his father who wasnt real kind about the fact that he didnt like it and came up with a mean nickname. I was so hurt. I kept looking for names but could never commit to any and eventually gave up trying for either girl or boy. I figured I would know when I needed to. And sure enough that day came and looking at my not even 5 minute old daughter her name came to me, Madison, like I had known her all my life, but oddly enough it wasnt the name I had picked out all those years ago! And yes I do realize that I never said what that name but Im saving it for my next daughter. He he Im not telling father in law either, and he will rue the day he ever uses that awful nickname!
