We ran down the amount of money I spend monthly: debts, child care expenses, gas, electricity, and loan payments. I gave her mine and Zak's bi-weekly pay and after crunching the numbers, she came up with an income of $2500 monthly -- and said we were spending $3000!!!

Meeting Gerry was a pleasure. He genuinely seemed to want to help my family, which I appreciated. The things he asked for -- like keeping track of the day-to-day expenses to figure out how, why, and where I spend on a regular basis -- weren’t hard to do.

Really, there's nothing to really write down because everything is a necessity. I don't have any extra money to spend on things that aren't important.

Hi, my name is Natasha. I am 24 years old. My partner, Razak, and I live together with our two boys, ages 3 years and 10 months old. I make about $35,000 annually and he makes about $20,000. We pay $650 a month in rent on our apartment, which isn’t in the best neighborhood.

We’d like to move, but right now, we have about $17,000 in debt between the two of us, including credit cards, student loans, and IOU’s to family. It scares me that in the event that Zak lost his job, we would be homeless because we have virtually no savings and no cushion in case of emergencies.
