I just wanted to share a little good news, since we kind of tend to get caught up in the trials and tribulations of raising a toddler! :) I began potty training my 2 1/2 yr. old son 6 days ago, and when I began I thought, "Oh, Boy, this is gonna suck!" He would scream at me and run away "I don't wanna go potty!". (He is very strong-willed, btw) But, after about three days of that, he really started getting into it! He still will tell me he doesn't want to try to sit, but once he goes, he is so proud of himself! He actually told me today that he had to pee before he peed! And he made it to the potty!!!

The first morning I just put the remainder of his diapers away and told him that the new baby would need his diapers in August. We do underwear all day, and pull-ups for nap and bedtime. We also have a sticker chart posted next to the potty chair and every time he pees he gets to put a sticker up. Tonite he filled all the spaces for the day, so his dad gave him a quarter for his piggy bank. (It could have been a penny and my DS wouldn't have cared) I told him that when he poops in the potty he gets a sucker, but so far we haven't made it there.

Anyway, just wanted to give some of you moms hope! You CAN do it! :)

Awesome!! My mom gave me M&M's. I also wanted to be just like my older brother, so I'm told I was potty trained at 16 months...I guess I'm a bit of a pooping prodigy :) I personally don't remember, regardless, it's great that you are having success with your child. Congratulations on finding something that works, I'm sure it will be even easier with the next one.

I'll be looking for some tips on changing diapers in about 3 months...wow, am I nervous!
