I was 9 days overdue with my son, they had to induce labor and it lasted about 24hours, I pushed for almost an hour and a half, the dr said that we were going to try one more push and if not then I would have to go for a c-section, there was no way I was going to wait to go have a c-section at that point so I pushed as hard as I could and they used forceps to help him out. My son was 10pounds 6oz at birth and I tore in several places, I also lost 1000cc's of blood, when I asked how much that was comparable to they said pretty much and iv bag full, needless to say I was pretty much out of it, I passes out one time and couldn't even get up without feeling dizzy, I didn't get to hold my son for a few hours after he was born, luckily my husband was there and my parents stayed until they took me up to the recovery room. They were unable to move me from labor and deliver for 7 hours after birth, I am pregnant with number 2 now and due in November, my doctors have assured me that they will not let me go over my due date and may even induce early so we can hopefully avoid some of the problems of last time.
