Ovarian Cyst

I just found out via ultra sound that I have a large lemon sized cyst on my right ovary. I am getting it removed, but was curious if anyone else has had a cyst this size and if you needed to have fertility treatments to conceive or if you conceived on your own after it was removed. Also, the reason I got checked out in the first place is because I had very irregular periods. If you had a cyst removed, did this get you back to normal?? Thanks for any advice you can give me.

I had something similar and I was very concerned about preserving my fertility. I ended up contacting a fertility clinic and they did the surgery. I felt like they would be more concerned/capable of doing this because their job is to make babies. It worked out great. I actually ended up getting FT from them afterwards, but because of my husband, not me. Good luck. I hope it goes well.

From your description - it appears you're having a Endometriomas (based on the size of cyst and suggested surgical intervention). Endo cysts are mostly benign (histological evaluation reqd to accertain if this is malignant) and dont generally cause infertility, but can interfere with ovulation or follicular development.
So, post surgery, you should be good to conceive. Good luck to you.
