My son is 5 months old. he drinks only 2.5 ounces of milk at a time.Because of which i just keep feeding him through out the day.Cause he gets hungry in an hour.He gets cranky and starts shouting. I tried feeding him when he is sleeping but he won't drink past 2.5 in one go. I tried waiting for 3 hours before feeding him. However hungry he is not more than 2.5 because of which he is not gaining weight.

What should i do?

When you say "milk" you mean pumped breast milk or formula, right? A 5-month-old isn't ready for cow's milk.

If he isn't gaining weight, of course you want him to eat more, but what does it matter if he eats many small meals or a few large ones? It sounds like he just has a small stomach right now, so a lot of small meals are probably just what he needs.

If he gets so very hungry in an hour that he's cranky and shouting, he was probably moderately hungry before that. Feed him when he's even a little hungry, before he gets upset. Most babies signal hunger by rooting (wagging their heads like they're looking for something) and/or putting their hands in their mouths.
