Well, for 3.5, almost 4 yrs now, we've used no contraceptive and never had even a scare. So theres lucky, and then theres somethings wrong, i think we've crossed into the somethings wrong catagory. Also I have EXTREMELY painful pregnancies! EXTREMELY!!! So Ive always thought something was wrong. I also have mittelschmerz which isnt supposed to harm anything but once again, its painful. Butnow we're finally taking the time to actually ttc, Im scared its not going to happen or its going to take a bunch of money that we really dont have =[
Anyone else experience really terrible periods then fertility problems?! Anyone ever have really terrible periods but once they tried to concieve they didnt have issues?
What are the best ways to get pregnant? Any tips (besides the obvious =p)

Hey Silly! I was lucky, starting my cycles at the ripe old age of 9!!! You're jealous, I can tell:) I too always had very heavy painful cycles and have ALWAYS experienced mittelschmerz. Also with the tilted uterus, I guess we are similiar!
My dr. diagnosed me with endometriosis as the cause of my painful periods. And yes, it can cause infertility. With an outpatient procedure called laproscopy (sp?) your doctor can go in and take a look around and even clean up some of the endo, if in fact, you have it. They make one tiny incision in your belly button and one on your side, near your hip bone. I happened upon this procedure by chance as I had a tubal pregnancy and while my dr. was in there removing it he went ahead and cleared out some of the scar tissue that forms on the outside of your reproductive organs (endometriosis). I couldnt believe how much better I felt afterward! No more pain! I conceived a healthy pregnancy four months later.
The mittelschmerz can be a good thing, as its usually a sign of ovulation that you can feel. So you can get busy during that time, as you are most fertile!
After I learned of my tiltled uterus, some friends suggested we try doggy style to help his litte guys get to where they needed to be. I didnt know if it was just an old wives tale type of thing or not. But indeed, it certainly works and my dr confirmed it can help sometimes.
Have you already had a checkup with a dr? In what ways are you going about ttc? I wish you the best of luck!

Thank you!! I needed to hear some of that. Was it painful, the laproscopy? and expensive at that or did insurance cover it? I have had a couple of ultrasounds but they said they cant detect endo via an ultrasound so that it is basically I ahve the symptoms so they expect its what I have. Ive head of the surgery before, but the way it was described was much worse then what you described... lol
and I heard of the doing it doggy style to try to concieve, too bad i heard it after Id ovulated so we'll try that next month when we're around the right time again.
We're basically tracking my periods, my ovulation, making sure to have sex everyday when im fertile/ovulating to make sure his men aere waiting anxiously where they should be and then I lie on my back, hips tilted up for about 20-30 mins afterwards and i try not to pee for a while as well cause i dont want to clear them out. I cant think of anything else really to start, like i said, we've never even had a scare for 4yrs, so we're expecting something to be wrong, but we're trying formally so that way we can go to the doctor and say we did our part =P
Any advice is ALWAYS welcome!!!
