I have had no luck with any birth control. In that past 4 years I have either been pregnant or the mini pill (while nursing) once my body is working it's way back to normal things just don't work. A bit of history on birth contol and me: I have a hard time trying to take a pill everyday and everything has made me feel complete bloated (the whole time) and makes me a basket case, I had Mirena inserted and if you have read any of my other posts I have had massive problems with that, I had to have surgery to remove it becuase it preforated my uterus, I am currently on the shot which is were I do not what to be. I feel my body is on hormone overload. So I have decided to let nature run its course and see how things work out. Having a baby now would be very tough, I am going back to school in summer and my kids are 1 and 2. My husband has mentioned something about tracking days that I am fertile, and I have no idea what he is talking about. Anyone care to share light on this new subject for me, he still isn't quite sure how it is done.

I am no expert in this, but typically we are fertile about 14 days after we begin out period. Your fertility cycle is based on the number of days in your cycle (e.g. usually between 26 and 31 days) and the day you begin your period. Go to http://babymed.com/Tools/Fertility/Calendar/Default.aspx and it will track when you are most fertile based on your start date and the number of days in your cycle. From experience, it is fairly accurate, this is how I conceived my son.
If your periods are not regular, that is another issue, and you need to visit your oby/gyn about that.
If the link above does not work, visit www.babymed.com and click the fertility calender.

If you want to know more about your body and when you are fertile I would definitely recommend you reading "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" this is the best book I have ever read. I know more about my body and cycle now than I ever did. You have nothing to lose by reading this. It also gives you a ton of information on how to recognise when you are and are not fertile, hense possible avoiding any birth control pills. Best of luck, hope this helps. I bought the book on Amazon.com.

Try giving your physician a call as well. The hospital I teach childbirth education for has a program called Natural Family Planning. You track your cycle each day and the statics show it is more effective than birth control pills! Best wishes.

I have similar problems to you and have been told NOT to have any more but I really do not want to be "fixed" so I have been doing NFP and it has worked real well so far. (she is 10 months old) I would google Natural family planning and read about all the methods I really liked the info on the billings method and it is really easy to follow (I am using a modified version of this) You do not have to do anything gross just watch your cycle I would recommend NOT using the counting method as it did not work for me especially after baby you can have some weriod cycles and if you watch what your boby is doing you can have a better idea> I do not do temp check or anything all I really do is write in the calender when I had the begining of my last mensus and then count ( to see roughly when my next ovulation and menus will be ) then I watch for the mucous then you cannot do anything (two to 4 days ahead you can not do anything either) then when the mucos leaves you wait 2 days or 3 to be safe and then from the worst day of the mucous is about 14 days till then the next period starts. they should be dry (you have to wait till the mucous clears as the day of the worst mucous is ovulation?? (it has been a while since I read the article) If you watch for a while you can have a pretty good idea of what your boby is doing. ( we use condoms for added protected)
I really did a bad job of discribing this method google natural family planning and see what works for you. If you are consistant about when you can and cannot and do not do anything on fertile days (and those leading up to it ) this method works great ) MAJOR NOTE> HUBBY/BOYFRIEND MUST and I repeat MUST go along and understand this for it to work otherwise it is you being a meany for refusing him. They hold classess especially the catholic ones (YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE A CATHOLIC I AM NOT) they are cheap and he should go with you. If he is not willing to go along with it will be really hard.

They also make ovulation tests that are in the pregnancy test section of the store. I would think this would tell you the best time NOT to be with your husband.
