This is my first time posting here and this is also our first baby. We took him home a few days ago. One thing that I noticed on my son was that he has small rash or pimples under his mouth. It is not that bad but I don't want it to get any worst. I think the cause from this is from the formula milk that he is drinking because they tend to droll down his mouth when he drinks. We try to wipe him and keep him clean as much as we can.

I just want to know if there is any safe facial wipes that we can use on him. As of right now all we use is water and paper towel.

I always use/used diaper wipes. It could also be baby acne which will clear up on it's own. If it turns out to be baby eczema then your ped would suggest Aquafor or Cetaphil. Both work great but Aquafor is greasy. Try the wipes first and if you are still concerned then talk with your pediatrician.

Thanks,
I was thinking about using the baby wipes but I don't know if that would be safe, I thought the soap or whatever they put in it would be too strong for the face.

You can call the hospital that you gave birth at and ask for a nurse. I am sure they would be happy to help. Was there a nurse there that you really liked? Ask for her.

I call my pediatrician and ask for advice or over-the-counter medicine all the time. I have had the same ped for all three kids since they were born. They like to help me out.

I agree that talking to your pediatrician is a good idea, but not to recommend something to treat the rash. Instead, you want to find out what's causing the rash in the first place so you can prevent it. If it is this formula, you could try a different brand of formula to see if that doesn't cause a rash. For example, if he's on a cow's milk-based formula now, you could switch to a soy-based one. Good luck!

It could be baby acne- he still has a lot of your hormones in his body. My baby has it too and a pediatrician book that I have actually says that washing the babys hair can help. Weird I know. We also used some of the vitamin a and d ointment on it and it seemed to help. (normally used for diaper rash)
