my 13 year old son has developed a habit over a few years where if i buy something that he enjoys he will eat it all in a few hours. This is usually junk food, chips, slim jims and frozen treats. i have tried over and over again to ration out these treats, even hiding them. Nothing works he will find them and wait till late at night or when i need to go out of the house to raid the kitchen. I'm starting to feel like i need to lock up my cabinets whenever i leave the kitchen! Recently this has gotten worse, before he would show some guilt, real or not. But now i go to him and ask if he ate all the chocolate chips i needed for a cookie recipe. He will look at me and nonchalantly say "ya, sorry i wont do it again." When we both know he will. Ive tried everything to rid him of this habit but nothing works not getting angry, trying to rationally describe to him why he can,t continue to do this, nothing! I'm at my whits end please help!!!
