I have been blessed with a beautiful baby boy. Unfortunately, my maternity leave ends in September & I have to return to work so we can pay the bills. We will have to put the baby in day care and it breaks my heart. I want to stay home with him more than anything in this world. I have been looking into ways in which I could stay home & work from home or make extra money somehow. I would greatly appreciate any tips or advice from stay home moms that work out of the house. Any tips on finding a job that allows you to work from home or tips on how to make extra money to make ends meet?
thank you!

I had the privilege of being a stay at home mom, but prior to that I worked in infant daycare for a number of years. Every situation is different and I sincerely sympathize with moms who must work outside of the home and place their child in daycare. From my experience as a child care provider I saw women struggling with guilt and trying to ease that guilt by telling themselves that they are doing this all for the child. However the lifestyle these working moms were contributing to were above and beyond what was really needed. I'm not saying being a parent means that you have to stay at home with your child and live at the poverty level. NO, what I am saying is that like everything else it life it is a matter of priorities. You choose to have a child and obviously love that child, but life is about making choices and contrary to what modern American feminists try to tell us, you can't have it all. Something has to give. Hopefully that something that you would have to give up is just a material thing and not a good relationship with a child. On the other hand, a stay at home mom can be distance and discontent and not a nurturing mother at all. She can be physically available yet not emotionally present. Long story short: weigh the priorities. Figure out what you can live without. Working outside the home costs money. Whatever you do, love your child. Be there for your child. Best wishes on your decision,

Could you babysit? Like an inhome daycare situation?
Then you would be home with your son but still making money...
