So I am due soon for my 3rd csection. For others having been there, planning to have one, or just to be best prepared either way...I thought we could all share our how to recover best tips. It is dramatically different than recovering the other way (so I hear).
I know with 2 already at home I need to recovery quickly and I already have set a huge goal of getting in shape by summer 2010.
I know rule #1 is get out of bed as much as possible, but just in short spurts to not over do it.
2. Go potty as soon as the urge hits, it will hurt to hold it.
3. I try to stay sitting up after the first 1/2 day so my incision gets used to the pressure of my 'guts' pushing on it.
4. !!! DONT SNEEZE OR COUGH FOR 7 DAYS!! I am serious!
5. Keep it clean. After staples removed so like day 7 wash daily with antibac soap.
6. Be prepared at home to not have to lift or pick things up, its ok to kick stuff in the corner for a week or two.
7. Have drivers signed up since no driving for 2 weeks.
Those are my tips. I look forward to others tips.
My goal this time is to take control of my csection, we deserve the same rights as natural birth moms. Recovery will be one of many things I am controling! <in addition to wanting to see my goo covered baby straight out of the belly and breastfeeding within the first hour!>
