Ages 5-12 - Great summer activity!

A friend recently told me about a contest hosted by a board game company right here in San Francisco (the contest is open to any state) where your kids submit their own board games for a chance to have them actually made AND get a $10,000 savings bond for college. Your kids have to be 5-12 years old to enter.

Anyway, it's a great idea for when the kids are out of school and, at the very least, you can play your child's game as a fun family activity.

This looks like an awesome opportunity for kids to show their creative side! This can also be a family project. I agree with you that even if your child does not win, you could use their game for family game night!

I really like the idea of family game night. I'm a teen and I really enjoy spending time with my immediate and extended family when we have game nights. I think its a great way to unite the whole family in an entertaining way. Plus, there has been some great memories made during game nights.

I have also found that games can help bridge the age gap between siblings. Often younger siblings look up to their older brother and sister for guidance. In addition, many tweens or teens like to help their younger siblings because they may enjoy the adoration and feeling like an idol.
